Orange CHAN 2014 to close with Spectacle

As the Orange African Nations Championship 2014 reaches the exciting knockout stages, the Local Organising Committee is proud to announce a top of the range Closing Ceremony artist line up set to dazzle football and music fans in what has been enjoyed as a world class African football spectacle.

Themed as “A Celebration of Africa’s Home Champions”, the LOC has pulled out all the stops to secure the country’s finest talent that is equally suitable to close of an event of this magnitude that has indeed celebrated the talent and identity of African Football for the world to witness.

Set to take place at the iconic Cape Town Stadium on 1 February 2014 at 15:00, the closing of this tournament will be topped with the cream of the crop of South African music and dance icons. To officially close the Orange CHAN 2014, multi-award winning artists and renowned acts such as Mafikizolo, Professor, Uhuru, Busiswa, DJ Zinhle and Cape Town’s own Reddy D and Chad Saaiman are set to leave fans in complete awe with their favourite musical hits, set to be fused into an African feel that will truly celebrate the beauty and prominence Africa. Committing to making sure that the Closing Ceremony of this tournament is of the standard equally benefitting to that of Africa’s Home Champions, the LOC CEO, Mr Mvuzo Mbebe urged the public to be a part of the closing ceremony and not miss out on what is set to be a mind blowing music explosion.

“We have witnessed some world class football during this period. Some exciting talent has emerged and the quality of football and goals witnessed in Cape Town, Mangaung and Polokwane can never be questioned. We are now drawing to the end of what will be the beginning of a new dawn for African football and what better way is there to reach this achievement than to assemble some of the finest musical and dance talent there is in the country. As the LOC, we have lived up to our promise of delivering a high quality and seamless event and this promise will be evident in how we close the tournament. We therefore urge South Africans and the African diaspora to stand up and be counted by showing their love for the beautiful game through coming out in their numbers and being a part of the historic summation of what has been a great and memorable Orange CHAN 2014” concluded Mbebe.
