For all that has been said about him Salah may not be better than Atsu. Indeed Salah may be a little ahead of Atsu now in terms of exposure, longer term I think Atsu will be better than Salah.

Talent wise Atsu may be ahead of Salah, but you shouldn't forget the physical nature of the Premiership?Atsu needs to work on his physique which has been his bane from the Academy level.

The argument should be the production of player compared to other players. Talent gets a player into a club but production is what keeps him in the lineup. If a player is small but can produce like Messi he will play everyday.

I think Atsu is better of at Vitesse. He is playing full time every week. He may not even get thirty minutes a week in Chelsea. Even their captain is not getting full time.

A lot of people are ignorant of the transfer dealings of top clubs in Europe, much as they require quality players to play for them, the business philosophy of these clubs to make profit in all transfer transactions at the end of every financial year run side by side with all other businesses of the club, thus buy, groom and sell is one of their business strategy to cussion high cost of buying ready made stars around the world.
There are too many examples around the world where top clubs rush to buy young talents especially from Africa only to end up selling for profits and may never get to rise to play for a first division, their aim here is to buy, groom and sell for profit, even when the player seem matured and already playing regularly from another club as in the case of Lukaku and even Atsu; they are quickly loaned out and observed to attract bigger signing fee and ready to be sold out for profit. Clubs like Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool etc are notorious for this kind of practice. This practice has persisted with the big clubs for a long time and will not cease anytime soon, eventhough they continue to declare losses every yearbthe practice is just to cussion yearly losses.
Lukaku may never return to Stansford Bridge to play fully for Chelsea despite his top form on loan at Everton, same Atsu may never be allowed to fulfil his dream of playing for Chelsea at full first division level because there are many of Atsu's age and talents waiting and marking time in various clubs as loanees while hoping to catch attention someday with the Stansford Bridge. So in conclusion, Atsu may or may never despite being a property of Chelsea taste actions at full premiership level. Adiyiah's case readily come to mind at AC Milan who never tasted actions for Milan until sold out to Siberia where he never ever again found the rythim to play top class football again. Therefore Salla's purchase is not to delay Atsu's return but a club's philosophy to ensure the club's form never dips and also to ensure weaker gaps in the team are filled at all time. Sure Atsu may still wait a couple of years to get lucky once again.
