Secondly, had the writer got sound technical knowledge, he would have realised that if Congo had beaten Libya 2-0 as he erroneously claimed, Ghana would have qualified behind Congo in first position.

I only watched the 2nd Half during my lunch time break. But from what I saw, the team doesn't look bad but there are lots of loopholes which needed to be filled. The defence looked well organised although guilty of some naivety at certain stages of the game. Although there were some individual brilliance from the forwards, they tended to lose ideas in the final third hence had difficulty creating chances and thus scoring goals. The problem was compounded because of the inability to send good crosses to the attackers. Besides there was the tendency on some of the forwards to over-elaborate on the ball or play to the gallery instead of playing it simple as part of a team. But if I am to take one player who impressed me the most then it will be the central defender Nuru Sulley. He was tireless; pacy; tackled very well and was very composed. For me he has all the credentials of being in the main Black Stars squad and I will implore Akwasi Appiah to go and watch him in our next match, at least.

The crosses never passed the first man; and our attackers lacked the physique to compete in the air for whichever ball entered the 18. I have seen you mentioned elsewhere the penalty came as a result of a penetration through the middle with a slick pass to Bansey who showed a real centre-forward pedigree to deceive 2 Ethiopian defenders with a nice turn to make room on his left foot ready to pull the trigger when he was upended, resulting in the penalty. I think we can create more chances by putting the ball down sometimes and giving the strikers defence splitting passes. In this respect the coach should try and pair up Bansey and Yahya Mohammed upfront with Jordan Opoku playing behind them and that boy Annobah operating on the wings. I believe the goals will flow. Sorry about those who have problems with players of a particular team playing but I think Bansey and Yahya instinctively knows about each others play and can prove to be dynamite for Ghana.

Sometimes we have to put things in perspective. For the Ethiopians, with the exception of Said and and the one player they have from California, that team was their REAL NATIONAL TEAM. As a result, our local crew was outplayed. Nevertheless, they were able to intercept passes at the right moments. The attack was weak but when someone finally tried to make a move in the box, we drew penalty. They did what they needed to do against a better side. That is how you win tournaments.

konadu, the winger, attacking midfielders must be tasked with taking the ball inside the 18 yard box. the only time you shoot is from the 18yard line, period!

It is Libya who qualified with 5 points, because their match ended 2-2, so the Congolese had 4 points while Ethiopia had nothing - 0. And that is even another thing. Why did this reporter include Ghana's 7 points if he was not going to mention how many points any of the other teams amassed? Our reporters will never learn the professional way of doing things!

I don't know why some people are so excited about this game. We've won and moved to the next stage, but we shouldn't rejoice too much. There's still a lot to do; our team's performance is sub-standard. The Ethiopians could have levelled up had they taken their chances well. It's the same story as it was in the beginning of the tournament when we played Congo. Even if Ghana wins the tournament, it'll indicate that the continent's football isn't rising as expected. Our team lacks creativity. It's difficult to explain; we definitely have a long way to go. That's for sure!

Is this another one goal regime? We need to improve a lot in a number of areas if we are to get to the next stage. It seems the bench warmers brought some life into the game. Lets give everyone the chance to prove their worth. Well done but our wins have not been impressive.
