Yes, they did not cause you to be poor but you gave them the opportunity to show you there is heaven on earth. And they are doing it in style.

  Not only did VIPs line up for this nonsense but On my way to town from Dansoman to Osu yesterday - a saturday, hundreds of Policemen were lined up all along the way and when I asked what the reason for this most unusual security turn out was, I was told by one of the Policemen that it was to welcome the commonwealth Games baton. I could not believe my eyes and ears.
  
  I was devastated to say the least. In this day and age we are still kow-towing to the alien sentiments and cultural instructions of our slave-masters? Unbelievable!
  
  Of the many hundreds of millions of African slaves and inestimable zillions of dollars worth of mineral resources that they freely siphoned and purloined from our lands, what event of ours or personality do they celebrate?
  
  That we are still celebrating the dictatorial enslavement and the merciless thievery of our resources that went on for several hundreds of years, just spoilt my entire day.
  
  I have known for a fact that Ghana is now a helpless de facto neo-colony but this crude reminder hit me like a bolt from the blue.
  
  It appears that nothing has really changed from when we gleefully accepted rum and little pieces of mirrors in exchange for whole boxes full of gold and diamonds. The sad sad fact remains that we are still the same old stupid niggers.

  When will our leaders open their eyes? What impact has this baton got to do on the life of an average Ghanaian? People are hungry, we cannot buy common gari to eat, cannot pay school fees, light bills etc. because the NDC government is insensitive to our plight that is why the President and his sycophants in power are not making any effort to help the youth get employment, hence the high rate of poverty in the country and you are wasting your time just going to receive an ordinary baton on behalf of people who cannot make ends meet. How can you run on an empty stomach, are there no athletes in Britain? SHAME MR. VICE PRESIDENT.
