I was going to stay out of all these nonsense and allow the fools and opportunities take the lime light but I cannot take the stupidity and nonsense any more. Where were all these idiots writing all kinds of crap when the Serbians took us to world cup.
Answer this question did Ratomir Dujkovic and Milovan Rajevac ever played in the world cup or coach a team in the world cup or became an assistant to a coach in the world cup before they took the Ghana job?
If the answer is no than why all these idiots comments and article about Akwesi Appiah need help slave mentality is killing us stupid idiots we had more money life was good when we were under the British rule so why you idiots apply the same thing here tell the MPs and President to go and ask help from England.

You said and I quote "The world cup is not a qualification series. It is a tournament. There's a difference kani kani... This is why Brasil has Scolari and Parreira". Liar, can you tell us when Brasil's soccer federation said that? That because it's a tournament that's why they've paired these two coaches?
My peace of advice to you is to say what you know not what you assume. In the first place, you don't even know the role of Parreira in the Brazil national team. You have no clue but check what you've been posting around for sometime now? Though you've live abroad for a long while, you're no different from that old lady somewhere there in the fantiakwa district who bases her facts on hear says and assumptions.
Sometimes you lie to the extent that even the devil gets shocked and I guess he goes pleading before the Lord God Almighty that he "the devil" has no clue where you got that lie from.
I can bet you that you only made up this story. Scolari is the head coach and Parreira is playing a role totally different from Scolari's. If you think it's not true, spell out his role here for all to see.
You damn liar, prove me wrong let's all see.

Here we go again!
When are we going to learn that Africa is a continent, and Ghana is where our focus should be?
It's very disheartening that, the least chance we get to move our country beyond the threshold of mediocrity, we try to saddle our- selves with the weight of Africa.
Our first president made the same kind of mistake, and wasted all money on stupid pan-Africanism.
With all due respect: Coach Appiah needs to be reminded that, the success of Ghana cannot be "linked with the total liberation of Africa."
We made the conscious decision to go with a local coach,-- because of financial constraints -- and it has paid off for us.
Let's leave the other African countries alone to figure out their own respective destinies.
After all qualifying for the World Cup tournament is just the beginning.
The actual task lies ahead, -- i.e., going out there to perform honorably.
Coach Appiah focus, and don't gloat.
May Lord Almighty continue to bless our beloved Great Ghana:
Amen!!!

Akwasi Appiah you'll do yourself and (Ghana teams)a lot of good by going for very advanced coaching courses that will train you to think strategically and tactically, identify abnd recognise talent, coach such talented persons to improve in whatever role you want them to play in your team setup and also learm more about physiology od exercise and psychology so that you can effectively psche these [players up.
The return match was tactically flawed. You should have encouraged the players to score and early(even first) goal in order to completely deflate the Egyptian team...a first or an early goal would have made them despondent and realise early on that the task ahead was insurmountable. That(early goal) would have taken the fight out of them and lessened the tension/pressure on the Black Stars.

This is the analogy I will use. The USA is not a football nation. In fact, most of the time, their team is lacking. Guess what, no matter what, they approach the WC with confidence. In 2002 they made it to the final 8 and of course in 2010 they were knocked out in the final 16 by Ghana. As a non-football nation, they find a way to hold their own. Ghana as a football nation should not be going into the tournament scared and acting like we need a so called "technical specialist". At this point, most of our team plays in Europe. It would be different if we were taking the best of Kotoko and Hearts of Oak and using them at the WC. Our players are confident. Let them go out there and play hard and have fun. The talent on the Black Stars is such that they should get out of the group stages. Once that happens we will have to rely on the match ups.

Congratulations, Mr. Kwasi Appiah, the Black Stars, the Technical Team, the Ministry of Sports, et al, on helping to qualify the Black Stars for Brazil 2014!
I'm one of the strong advocates for a Ghanaian coach and I'm happy that Mr. Appiah has been given the job and has, overall, done well up to this point. One thing that has been bothering me, however, is the lack of consistency in the Black Stars matches. As I watched the away matches they played against Zambia, Japan and then on Tuesday against Egypt, I just didn't understand why they should have lost those matches. Tuesday's match in Cairo was especially demoralizing, for I didn't see that passion on the Black Stars' part to beat the Egyptians in their own back yard, a team that they beat last January 3-0 and then just a month ago 6-1. After the first half in last Tuesday's qualifier, I was expecting the coach to do something to put some steam in the players' body, mind, soul and spirit, but I didn't see it. I thought they'd play as they did during the 2006 and 2010 World Cup tournaments in Germany and South Africa, but I was disappointed. Yet this was the time when almost all the players that mattered most--with the exception of injured defender Vorsah--were available for the Cairo match. How come Mr. Appiah wasn't able to turn things around in the second half but instead the Black Stars continued to play the same way as they did in the first half? A good, competent coach is one who's able to quickly read his team to identify its weakness and strengths and to make the necessary changes to instantly turn things around to achieve his desired result.
I'm not happy with the attitude Appiah has adopted, each time praising his team when they've lost a match. That was his attitude when the Black Stars lost their matches against Zambia, Japan and Egypt. The current Egyptian team is in no way better than our Black Stars, even when they have home advantage; there's therefore no reason for us to have lost to them 2-1. The problem is with the Stars themselves, and it's the coach's responsibility to quickly identify and solve it.
If Ghana is to do well during Brazil 2014 and go beyond their two previous achievements, then Mr. Appiah must right now figure out why his charges aren't able to win the above-cited away matches, why they seemed to have lost the passion to win and played so leisurely, and then correct the problem(s). Appiah has no excuse for failing to do better, given the high quality of our current Blacks Stars players. It'd be to his shame and that of our country as a whole--and thus those agitating for a foreign technical hand would be vindicated--if he fails to reach and go beyond where his predecessors reached in 2006 and 2010.

I think this is well said the world has really evolved and continue to evolve because the days of colour is gone.It is not about local or white coach but results. Some whites have failed to win the world cup and the same way some blacks have failed to win the world cup.Just as Martin Luther said he had a great big dream that one day one day some days it was going to happen when foilks will not be judged by the colour of their skin but by their caharacter. This is happening today we are not there yet but we have at least made progress and continue to make progress.Just as write now I am black from Ghana but have friends that transcends all kinds of colour I have irish, itailian, german, spanish, black, white, yellow and what have you and I can attest that they are all good people and good friends.Just get to know people and also you need to travel to get to know various cultures.Only an ignorant person be it black or white will judge people by colour or ethenicity. Those shameful days is going and will be gone because people all over the globe are travelling beyond boundaries.Folks have naturalized and made various countries their new home study there, work there and live there till they depart this planet.White men are marrying blacks and black men are marrying whites, spanish etc.just look at Obama he is coming from a white mother but black father from no other place but Africa.Times continue to change so no doubt we will not matter of like we must change. We have African players playing all kids of sports all over the globe which years past was just not possible. Now I am an American and I am proud to be American but I love my folks also in Ghana because I can not forget my roots and where I am coming from.I love America and also love Ghana because that is my root.Really I love all nations and all mankind because we are all from one father God he is the father for all so please let us love each other to make this world a better place because we got only one life to live.Just as Michael Jackson once said"we make the world".The take home message to day is L O V E.

Congratulations Coach Appiah once more for guiding the Black Starts to qualify for WC-2014 in Brazil.
There's a great deal to do when the tournament begins in June next year. The level of play is way higher than what many may perceive it to be. I wish you as many Ghanaians all the best in the coming tournament. I'd however advise you and Coach Konadu to prepare well before the big game. There's a new science of football and let's go to Brazil well informed. Stay blessed Hon. Coach.

It's wishful thinking that African coaches are there yet. They aren't! In fact, if you look at European Soccer and South American Soccer, with particular emphasis on Brazil, it is obvious that African soccer has come a long way and it has a long way to go too.
Soccer is their turf and they maintain it good. The money the pump into their coach, their understanding of the game and the facilities available to them are unique.
For Akwasi Appiah to think that African Coaches are there yet is a misnomer.
Even with the Black Star achievement, we should not forget that Akwasi Appiah did not train any of the soccer players. Those guys; Essien, Ayews, Asamoah Gyan and all these players had already been trained by great coaches and they are at the zenith of their talents. He cannot therefore claim to be a soccer trainer or excellent coach.
We still need those coaches from abroad to coach and guide even some of our coaches themselves and the players.

I bet you, Old Tony Yaboah can come from retirement and play better than him.

Who told you that Africans have come of age? Where do you people live? Is there any constant electricity in Ghana? what of water? what about road network? These are the basic necessities for humans. In terms of soccer, Ghanaians have done well in qualifying, but the job is not over yet. If I were Kwasi Appiah , I would rather keep my mouth shut until the complete job is done in Brazil. Let other people do the talking and you do the listening, take the good ones and leave the rest period! Kwasi Appiah needs short technical refresher course as he travel round for the friendlies. He can also consult the gurus in soccer for advice in technical terms. One thing Kwasi Appiah should remember is that Ghanaians are impatient people and any little mistake will end his coaching career. Keep your mouth shut, Kwasi.

Yes indeed, Africans should learn to depend on their on efforts. Appointing an ex national team member to coach the National Team had always proofed to be successful. It is a principle which works in every country, for such old players who has served the team as a player has experienced the weakness and the strength of the team.
It is always difficult to explain to people who have learned from other nationalities to adapt their own style of playing a game. If you had the advantage to watch matches of different nations, you would notice that every group of nations have their now way, let's call it "system" of playing takes ages to adopt another system. English are said to have introduced footballing but they still maintain their system which can not be introduced to some West African Nations of today.
To cut a long story short; the GFA should be happy for appointing Coach Appiah. The old poplar players who had their best years have to notice that Africans can play best among themselves. This is not a racism, it is a sort of instinct- doing things and knowing what the other one is going to do- a simply understanding!
Good Luck to the best African Nations going to represent the continent.

I really don't believe that the colour of somebody's skin or where he comes from should should form the basis for engaging a coach any where in the world. If at this point in time we think a Ghanian is the best person to handle the Black Stars at the least cost cost, then is all well and good, and don't have a problem with that. But we should this ' Blackman, African and Ghanaian Stuff'. since it not sustainable and will end us nowhere. If this race argument is extended it will no doubt end us in the realm of absurdity since blacks will go black schools, black hospitals and eat black food. The irony is that, sometimes blacks treat their fellow blacks worse than whites, and we continue to practice discrimination, tribalism and ethnicity right here in Ghana.

I do not think Kwesi Appiah would like to come back from the WC in tears. This is the more reason critical thinking should be considered to see if technical assistance is needed to help Kwesi to achieve the ultimate result. Kwesi has done very well and should remain the head coach, but he should not forget that, "had I known is always at-last", when an egg brakes nothing can mend the pieces back to its original form. Kwesi must at-least cast his mind at the recent happenings at the African Cup of Nations. Perhaps, if there were to be an excellent technician to assist him, he would not have depended so much on the local players. Now that he has the superstars, he must utilize all available resources and opportunities. Ghana cannot afford to wait another four years for greatness. Yes, Africans must believe in their own, which is a fact. However, I am not aware of an African technician who has had a long coaching education in abroad, those I know have passed; may their souls rest in perfect peace. A technician could assist Kwesi without taken-over the head coach position if that is what Kwesi is afraid is going to happen. Kwesi Appiah is our head coach and we are extremely proud of him and blessed to have him. He is in control; however, he should not hesitate to go for the best technician if that is what is needed to assist him to bring the WC or to be among the best in the world. If Ghana has such expertise he should use them, if not, Kwesi, act appropriate to choose the best and do not forget Diego Maradona and Michael Jordan were not good coaches or technicians, but were the best in their respective fields. Choose wisely if the time comes.

I thought sometime back it was a bad idea to allow a local soccer coach to handle the Black stars when it comes to competing for slot for the world cup. My decision at the time was based on the fact that no local coach had ever been able to take the Black Stars to the world cup. I thought it was a bad idea to place a local coach in charge as far as the world cup is concerned. However, Akwasi Appiah has done it even against the background that many of us did not have faith in him. But he has done it, what no Ghanaian soccer coach has been able to do. If the guy has done it then it means he can guide the Black Stars during the world cup. As long as the players are Ghanaians the coach should be a local one. If a local coach is not given the opportunity there can never be a time a local coach would ever feel competent to show his capabilities not only on continental level but at the highest level. Give him the support morally and spiritually and Akwasi will shock the world.

Congratulations to you, Mr. Kwasi Appiah, the Black Stars, the Technical Team, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, et al, on helping to qualify the Black Stars for Brazil 2014!
I'm one of the strong advocates for a Ghanaian coach and I'm happy that Mr. Appiah has been given the job and he has, overall, done well up to this point. One thing that has been bothering me, however, is the lack of consistency of the results of Black Stars matches. As I watched the away matches they played against Zambia, Japan and then on last Tuesday the 19th against Egypt, I just didn't understand why they should have lost those matches. Tuesday's match in Cairo was especially demoralizing, for I didn't see that passion and determination on the Black Stars' part to beat Egypt in their own back yard, a team that they beat last January 3-0 and then just a month ago 6-1. After the first half in last Tuesday's qualifier, I was expecting the coach to do something to put some steam in the players' body, mind, soul and spirit, but I didn't see it. I thought they'd play as they did during the 2006 and 2010 World Cup tournaments in Germany and South Africa, respectively, but I was disappointed. Yet this was the time when almost all the players that mattered most---with the exception of injured defender Isaac Vorsah---were available for the Cairo match. How come Mr. Appiah wasn't able to turn things around in the second half but instead the Black Stars continued to play the same way as they did in the first half? They hardly invaded the Egyptians' 18 nor threatened their goal tender in any serious manner; thus the latter had a field day throughout most of the 90 minutes. A good, competent coach is one who's able to quickly read his team as well as his opponents' to identify their weakness and strengths and to accordingly make the necessary changes to instantly turn things around to achieve his desired result.
I'm not happy with the attitude Appiah has adopted, each time praising his team when they've lost a match. Why is he so contented even when the Stars lose matches? That was his attitude when Ghana lost to Zambia, Japan and Egypt. The current Egyptian team as well as those of Zambia and Japan are in no way better than our Black Stars, even when they have home advantage; there's therefore no reason for us to have lost to them. The problem is the Stars themselves, and it's the coach's responsibility to quickly identify and solve it.
If Ghana is to do well during Brazil 2014 and improve upon their two previous achievements, then Mr. Appiah ought to figure out now why his charges weren't able to win the above-cited away matches? Why did they seem to have lost the passion and determination to win and instead played so leisurely, as if nothing was at stake? Did Mr.Appiah and his technical team not see that and for which reason they failed to correct the problem and the Stars were beaten as a result? Mr. Appiah has no excuse for failing to do better, given the high quality of our current Black Stars players. It'd be to his shame and that of our country as a whole--and thus those agitating for a foreign technical hand would be vindicated--if he fails to reach and go beyond where his predecessors reached in 2006 and 2010.

Congratulation coach AA. The African ego is extremely tremendous, that make it difficult to successfully rule ourselves or coach our national teams. You Appiah initially unyield to call our super stars plus having grudge with them for minor issues "thanks to social media". You realized that the continuity of calling players like Solomon Asante, Yiadom Boakye, Adomah etc, will cost your job. With Egypt, why you kept Kevin Boateng so long on the bench ? with the mind they could do the job without him. The African ego is useless

There is no reason why players of a nation cannot be coached by a coach from the same country.
Of course, there is also nothing wrong with having a foreign coach. But the problem is when we believe it must be a foreign or a European coach for the Black Stars by all means.
What has made this stand so bizarre is the fact that we already have a successful Ghanaian by name Akwasi Appiah who has already qualified the Black Stars for Brazil 2014.
If this discussion had been before AA's appointment, it would have been fair to doubt the competence of a local coach because all the two previous qualifications were under foreign coaches. Now it is sheer mischief to doubt AA's competence because of what he has achieved.
Now is the time to rally behind him for him to put his rich experiences first as assistant coach and then as man in charge of the Black Stars for over two years.
Truly, Akwasi Appiah and Stephen Keshi are good examples for other African countries that the African is capable.
I only pray that Akwasi Appiah should not allow vain noises to distract him and his able crew.

The fact of the matter is at these stage you need a real professinal coach to assist you,not as the head coach NO.The truth is you Appiah is very lucky to have good professinal footballers doing all their best for GHANA in order to qualify for Brazil, making your job less difficult am not undermining your success. You compare yourselve to Keshi, have you seen their games through qualifications?Their last two matches they were out played by Ethoupia,we are all very happy for you and Keshi to represent Africa, but you need an assisitant, let the truth be told a lot have to be done starting from your goalkeeper who has a big problem with corner kicks or free kicks, that first goal against Egypt was his fault,so before you start blowing your own trumpet fix the mistakes first, wishing you good luck, you have the best players in the world unlike Keshi that is the diffirence between the two of you
