WHY AA NEEDS A TECH DIRECTOR!
DO U KNOW THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF A TECHNICAL DIRECTOR? I WOULD URGE ALL SOCCER LOVERS TO GO N FIND OUT THE DUTIES OF A TECH DIRECTOR BEFORE THEY COMMENT. SECONDLY, BRASIL HAS A HEAD COACH IN SCOLARI AND A TECH DIRECTOR IN CARLOS PERREIRA(FMR GH HEAD COACH N A W CUP TROPHY WINNER). DOES THAT MEAN THAT PERREIRA IS THE BOSS? NO! PERREIRA IS THERE TO OBSERVE AND OFFER CRITICAL INSIGHTS, INPUT. A TECH DIRECTOR IS THE 2ND EYE OF THE COACH. ANY PERSON WHO UNDERSTANDS SOCCER CAN TELL YOU THAT PERREIRA IS A MORE EXPERIENCED COACH THAN SCOLARI, BUT WHO IS THE HEAD COACH HERE? SCOLARI....THE SAME WAY OBAMA IS THE PRESIDENT AND BIDEN IS THE VEEP? IN GH, PPL BRAINS ARE CONDITIONED TO BELIEVE 1 THING AND NOTHING ELSE. THEY DONT AND CANT SEEM TO THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX. WE NEED A MORE EXPERIENCED, ACCOMPLISHED COACH TO BE OUR TECH DIRECTOR. IT WILL GIVE GH A HUGE ADVANTAGE AND MAKE AA LOOK EVEN GOOD AS A COACH. DO U KNOW WHO AMERICA'S TECHNICAL DIRECTOR IS? CANADA!.......ALL THE FOOD, RESEARCH BRAINS, ENERGY, WATER ANYTHING NEEDED TO MAKE AMERICA RUN COMES FROM UP NORTH.
WE ALL SAW HOW AA GOOFED AT AFOCN 13? HIS SELECTIONS, STRATEGY ETC...WE ALL SAW HOW CAPE VERDE, BURKINA, MALI ALL GAVE US ELL. NOW, THESE NATIONS DIDNT QUALIFY TO THE WCUP BCOS THEY HAD BAD COACHES, NO. THEY SIMPLY DONT HAVE QUALITY PLAYERS. THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE. WE ALL SAW HOW GYAN BRIBED NIGER DEFENDERS TO SCORE GOALS. WE ALL SAW HOW WE STRUGGLED VS BURKINA...SO MUCH THAT EVEN WHEN THE REFS WERE CHEATING FOR GH. WE STILL COULDNT TAKE ADVANTAGE. WAT A JOKE. WHO WAS AA'S TECH DIRECTOR AT AFCON 13? WHY WOULD AA PLAY ATTACKING SOCCER AGAINST DR CONGO WHEN GH WAS ALREADY UP 2 NIL. THIS WAS OUR FIRST GAME AND DR CONGO'S COACH WAS LEROY, A VERY EXPERIENCED COACH AND AFCON TROPHY WINNER. THIS CLEARLY TELLS U THAT AA AND HIS TECH DIRECTOR WERE EITHER VERY STUPID OR DIDNT KNOW WHAT THEY WERE DOING OR DR CONGO PUT JUJU ON THEM. PICK 1...IM NOT A COACH, BUT COMMON SENSE TELLS U NOT TO PLAY ATTACKING SOCCER IN THIS CASE. AA DID, AND DR CONGO CAME BACK TO EQUALIZE N ALMOST WON THE GAME. QUALIFICATION SERIES GAMES IS NOT THE SAME AS A TOURNAMENT. CL, QUALIFICATION SERIES, FA CUP GAMES ARE NOT TOURNAMENTS. THE GH PREMIER LEAGUE IS NOT A TOURNAMNT. WCUP, AFCON, COPA, GOLD CUP, ASIAN CUP, CONFED CUP ARE TOURNAMENTS AND DEFENCE WIN TROPHIES DURING TOURNAMNTS. AA WAS A DEFENDER AND YOU WOULD THINK HE WOULD KNOW THIS?
LISTEN, THIS IS NOT ABOUT WHITE COACH, YELLOW CORN OR BROWN SUGAR. ITS ABOUT COMPETENCE! DO YOU KNOW WHO TRULY RUNS THE BANK OF GH? THE ROTHSCHILDS DO....NOT US? IF WE CAN MANAGE OUR OWN RESOURCES, WHY DO WE GO TO THESE WESTERN NATIONS N ASK FOR GRANTS, LOANS ETC....WHY CANT WE ALSO OFFER THE SAME TO TO OTHER NATIONS N COLLECT INTEREST? HUH?
ANALYST, WHO WAS OUR FIRST GBSTAR COACH? WHO TOOK GH TO OUR FIRST WCUP? THESE PPL PAVED THE WAY AND LAID THE FOUNDATION FOR A BLACK MAN TO EVENTUALLY WIN A TROPHY. IM NOT SAYING WE SHOULD HIRE A WHITE, YELLOW OR BLACK TECH DIRECTOR. WAT IM SAYING IS U NEED HELP AND IT DONT MATTER WHERE THE HELP MAY BE COMING FROM. MY SOLUTION: GFA SHOULD CONTACT FRANK RIJKAARD. IN MY OPINION, HE IS THE BEST NON WORKING COACH AT THE MOMENT. UNLESS SOMEONE ELSE CAN THINK OF ANYONE BETTER.

Sorry my dear. Its not about insults but advancing positive arguments.Kwasi Appiah may not be at that level now but at least there is an improvement.Osam Duadu,Ben kwofie and the like can help and that is exactly what they are doing.Kwasi is opne person who listens to the advice given to him by these experienced guys.I can tell you he watches tapes of teams all over the world.I know what am talking about.Just watch chelsea,at times they fumble and play as if they never had a strategy before they got onto the field.Who thought that South Africa would be able to beat Spain?meanwhile they were struggling to beat Ethiopia few months ago.Just cast your mind back,Nigeria leveled up against Italy. This is soccer for you.A coach may not know the strategy of an opposing team yes,BUT a god coach is able to change the game after a recess.Yes during the afcon we flopped.Kwasi Appiah has improved tremendously after Afcon. If you happen to be in possession of all the matches he has played re-play them and see for yourself how the team played after each recess of the game,THAT DEFINES A GOOD COACH.
Now lets come to captaincy.A good captain should be able to change the game plan on the field on the instruction of the coach. The question is DO WE HAVE SUCH A CAPTAIN IN THE TEAM?I think that is where our problem lies.Stephen Appiah was a captain because he was capable of stepping into the shoes of the coach on the field.Abedi Pele was one of them(issuing instructions on the field. The current black stars has Essien,Sulley Muntari and Ayew who are capable of stepping into the shoes of the coach on the field BUT what do we see?Asamoah gyan is able to mobilise the team outside the field,he is a unifying factor YES! but on the field of play I do not see him stepping into the shoes of Kwasi Appiah.I love Asamoah Gyan BUT the task on the field I can see is above him.Nigeria plays their african Nigerian soccer.WE need to play ours well that is all.Sam Arday did not need any technical director to conquer the world because he is a technical director himself.Fortunately he had a good and instrumental captain so the work was easier.Ayew was a good captain for the under 20 team so the work of the coach was easier.Count the teams that do well all over the world and crosscheck whether what am trying to put across holds water.Do not lay blame at the doorstep of the coach alone, the captain also has a part to play. Thanks

Koo Tee, you said a lot, a lot of facts about soccer, but no coherent argument. It seems you are close to Coach Appiah and therefore speaking out of emotions. You are making excuses for the coach and self-incriminate in the process. Why blame the captain if there is no problem? You are blaming the captain because you see a problem and remember that the coach chooses the captain. The problem is that the Black Stars are playing sub-standard soccer despite qualifying for the WC. A lot of Ghanaians are worried about the bad defense, bad goal keeping, horrific passing and lack of wing attack the team consistently shows.

If the answer is no than why all these idiots comments and article about Akwesi Appiah need help slave mentality is killing us stupid idiots we had more money life was good when we were under the British rule so why you idiots apply the same thing here tell the MPs and President to go and ask help from England.

Just read what you wrote and tell me which sensible individual will rain insults on other contributors for voicing out their democratic opinion?
And of course everyone knows Milo and Duya were sub-average European coaches. Anyway, if you think Akwasi Appiah can make it alone in Brazil, then you have something else coming for you.
Personally, I am more concerned with the type of defensive players (including goalkeepers) we will be taking to Brazil. Naive defending and goalkeeping will be our bane.
As for the coach, he will have to adapt his philosophy because his "the best way to defend is to attack" philosophy will get us nowhere unless we are playing Iran, Costa Rica, Honduras, etc.
If you want to incessantly attack the Portuguese team, we all know what Ronaldo is capable to doing. Let us hope we do not draw Portugal or Brazil.
And if we do, we have to defend like our lives depended on it and counter attack rather than matching them boot for boot.
A good technical director will come up with a brilliant strategy which will not be Appiah's coaching philosophy.
We have our own very experienced coaches in Ghana who can be called upon to give a helping hand.

We are going to Brazil to make a statement with AA incharge, our gallant soldiers are ready led by KPB who started this fight that took him all the way to the United Nationsa. If AA needs help he will get it but we are not going to import if there are many quality hands ready to help. Sallas Tetteh, Abedi, Polo, Osei Kofi, and many "Ibrahim Tankos" are all ready to give a hand even for free. We have to trust Nyantakyi and all incharge of the team to do the right thing to ensure success come Brazil 2014, but one thing they should and will not do is to waste our resources for a foreing coach or technical director because that will make Kwame turn in his grave as he did when Gyan miraclously missed the penalty against Uruguaye.

The game the Stars are playing now does not give us any hope in Brasil. We have good individual players (except for the goal keeper). The way the boys play depends on what the coach tells them. It is the coach that has to draw out the tactics and tell them what to play.
It is not the Captain on the field who does that. Football is not cricket where the captain is very important. In football, it is the coach who is important. In South Africa, we went to the quarters because the coach came up with the best strategy with the material he had at this disposal.
We have to see more of Appiah's strategy in how the boys played. We were lucky to beat Zambia in Kumasi. The 6-1 against Egypt was a fluke.
Now we're in the world cup and it's for real and the coach must get the boys to do far better than they've done so far. We are not satisfied with their game.

Indeed, your comments are on point. The best coaches can be found in Europe and South America(SA) as these two continents have consistently won the WC. Hiring the best in anything will at the moment come from these two locations. We work with the Europeans more than we do the SAs and since I cant think of a black coach of Technical Director(TD) from Europe, this means he is likely to be white. It has nothing to do with White dominance over the black man or anything like that. We are hiring a man to help our player win the cup in Brazil and not just go there to do well without the trophy. We leave Ghana for America and Europe for better lifes and we dont blame ourselves for helping these economies but will take to the internet vent our disgust on how hiring one to help us is a show of how weak we are compared to them. Color has nothing to do with the hiring of a TD. Kwesi Appiah(KA) is not among the best coaches in the world and will be out-coached in Brazil by a white coach to shame all those who hate Topmoller or whatever his name is. If we can get a brown, yellow, green or white TD and he/she can help us do a lot more than KA alone, lets hire him and stop complaining. Football capital is in Europe and the best comes from Europe and they just happen to be white. Hiring one is not about color superiority. Lets educate ourselves well and stop arguing with each other without merits.

Your plan depends on the opponent you are facing.
what are we looking for? is it good football or good results? He has been winning his matches and qualified us to the world cup, what else do you want? Are writing these articles to be known like some people or you really have something useful to contribute?
Leave the coach alone, he has done very well.
The fact that you know the names of players does not make you a footballer or a coach.

We simply depended on the individual players to reach the semi finals. Can you compare this team to the 2008, 2010 CAN teams, the 2006 and 2010 World cup teams? In the CAN 2013, WE SIMPLY HAD NO TEAM, WE HAD INDIVIDUAL STARS. iF YOU GIVE THIS TEAM TO ANY SPORTS MASTER IB OUR SECONDARY SCHOOLS, HE CAN ACHIEVE WHAYT kWASI aPPIAH HAS ACHIEVED. iN MOST CASES, THE PLAYERS USE THEIR OWN SENSE, NOT THE COACH'S IMPUT. Some of us don't care wheher it is white man, black man, yellow man. All we need is a Technical Adviser for the Black Stars, not Technical Adviser for GFA.Let's not wait till the team performs abysmally and we start doing post-mortem. By the way, why do we talk about colour when we are talking of foreign coaches. Brazilian coaches who are black; do they qualify for our BS going by the colour thing people are so enamoured about/

I think you are being unfair to Akwasi Appiah here. He and the GFA made mistakes leading up to the South Africa Games - they succeeded in creating dishamony in the team through exclusion of certain players (unfairly in my opinion). That affected team morale and ultimately our performance in which I believe the presence of certain players would have made a difference in crucial matches when it mattered the most.
At the World Cup in Brazil, everyone of the 32 (plus) nations represented there would have earned the right to be there and each one is already a success, to make it out of the entire family of nations around the world!!!
Ghana has a team with a broad range of skills, technical abilities, experience and leadership including quite a number being leaders at club level in Europe for example. They play with, against and have team mates from some of the great footballing nations. If these Ghanaian players can compete with these players at this level and can even lead them as Captains in those teams, who are you and I to doubt that they can win the World Cup? Surely they must command the respect of the other teams and individuals because they already know them and their stature. But for the infamous Suarez' unsportsmanlike CHEATING incident which denied Ghana a place at the Semi-Finals (and who knows what might have happened against Holland after what we did to Germany) incident at the last World Cup, we could have gone a step further and perhaps even gone on to win the cup especially with all the global support Ghana enjoyed at the event. In fact, Ghana was other people's favourite team and to this day, people talk about it when you travel around.
So, my advice to all is, let us come up with sensible and good ideas for the team, advice and in my view above all else encourage bonding, team building and self-belief and THINKING GHANA (and Africa) and not themselves. Let us encourage the coach whilst cautioning against complacency, and let us all route for Ghana for Brazil 2014.

To all the Pen Football players and analysts: how many of you have ever studied as coaches? It is enough! Kwasi Appiah and the management are not that stupid. They know that, even teams like the so called football bigwigs, as stated by the writer, there is always room for improvement. Every coach is analyzing films and coming out with strategies to, first neutralize its opponent, and take advantage of the weakness to win. If you say that the Egyptian team was not a good team I disagree. Who had a better record entering into the last stage of qualification? Do we always have to attack? Please analyze the strategy Kwasi Appiah employed: slow the game down, frustrate and neutralize their stategy. What was the big picture? Qualify. Do you think on any given day any team will play and win, especially going into your opponents home grounds? Did you study the strategy that the Zambians used when they palyed us in Kumasi? Delay tactics, play hard, bully them, frustrate them, and score when you get the chance. You soccer pundits, including Jawula and Grusah, are creating a lot of confusion with this technical director stuff. Kwasi Appiah was trained by some of the best coaches we have and he worked and studied under some of the so called technical directors you guys are craving for. He plaled the game very well with dedication. He knows very well how to prepare for the WC. He knows he has to study films on all the teams that have qualified. He knows he has to go on a refresher course before the WC. He knows he has to consult with technical teams both home and away, and he will be ready for the task ahead. Leave him alone, haters. What you have to expend your energy on is that: Ghana government and the NSC and the GFA give him the resources he needs to prepare for the WC. Ask the GFA if we have a film room, ask the GFA if we have access to all the films of the other teams. What are our scouts doing by bringing in valuable information? These are questions for discussions and stop hating the innocent black coach who has done his share of taking us back to the WC.

HE IS A FINE GENTLEMAN AND SPEAKS FLUENT ENGLISH LANGUAGE BETTER THAN THOSE FROM THE EAST, SERBIA TO BE PRECISE. AA DOES NOT SPEAK THE ENGLISH FLUENTLY. WHEN HE COMES HE WOULD HELP AA A GREAT DEAL AND MAY BE TAKE HIM TO AMERICA FOR SOME COACHING COURSE.
HE WILL EVEN INTRODUCE THE BLACK STARS TO OBAMA AND HE WILL BRING US SOME DOLLARS.
HE WILL LET US WIN THE WORLD CUP BECAUSE GHANA NEEDS IT BADLY. HE HAS HAD MORE ENCOUNTERS WITH GHANA BLACK STAR AND THEREFORE KNOWS US BEST AND CAN BE A GOOD TECHNICAL DIRECTOR TO ASSIST AA. HE SHOULD EVEN BE MADE TO INSTRUCT AA BECAUSE HE IS WHITE AND MORE EXPERIENCED. HE HAS LICENCE AA++.

I believe, our prayers for God's wisdom and understanding(discernment, comprehension and interpretation)is what he needs to see the BLACK STARS through,in the forth coming WORLD CUP 2014(BRAZIL).
He needs our encouragement that will pump faith, that ensures confidence in him,to encourage his children(the players).
He needs strategies to face each team,we would meet in the tournament, since they do not play the same, but differently.
HE NEEDS SOUND MIND AND PEACE TO CONCENTRATE,ON WHAT MATTERS,THE MOST TO THE TEAM,SO HE COULD WALK AWAY FROM THE TRIVIAL.
Example:About the TECHNICAL DIRECTOR people are saying he needs,my question is:
IS IT REALLY A NEED OR JUST WHAT WE WANT/LIKE?
We have to know the difference between what is needful(weightier and substantial, useful, beneficial matters) and style(how beautiful, attractive, colourful a thing might appear, look) but without substance, importance, durability, quality etc.
It's about time we knew that one of our own,can also do something that has never been done,by anybody before.
WE CALL IT,AN INVENTION.
I believe with God's backing,KWESI APPIAH COULD REACH THE UNTAPPED TERRITORIES AND EXPLOIT INVALUABLE FEAT,THAT WOULD CONFOUND THE WISE AND THE PRUDENT,AND TO SILENCE THE CRITICS,BRING THE DEVIL TO SHAME,BUT TO BRING GLORY TO GOD.
GOD BLESS GHANA AND THE BLACK STARS,
IN HESUS' NAME!
AMEN.

Do you think after thrashing the Egyptians 6-1 we will have another free ride in their own backyard? We were lucky and to me his tactics worked very well when we came out with 1-2 defeat. Imagine if the opposite had happened? Can we ever have a meaningful dialogue apart from unrealistic discussions? Wheter you like it or not, whether you call a spade a spade, AA will take us to WC. Kill him if fails. That is what we call evaluation. You evaluate his performance at the WC and you dont like his performance you fire him. What is the difference between Bradley and AA? If Bradley took the uS to the WC, AA was an assistant at WC and on 2 occasions we beat him. AA has soundly beaten Bradley, yet Egypt did not call for technical director. Thank God that I'm not alone in this debate to press for assistance for coach Appiah and his assist for sponsorships to broaden their knowledge in the game. Or to inform coach Kwasi Appiah and Maxwell Konadu the need for them to update their knowledge in the scientific aspect of the game. There's a new science in the game of football and without that Ghana Black Stars, as I've express previously, will just be mere passangers in WC-2014 in Brazil.
The Black Stars have succeeded in qualifying for the WC but anyone who understands and admires quality football will agree that our stars are not up to the level that can match great football nations esp. in the coming tournament. Their matches against Zambia, Japan and Egypt attest to the fact that under Coach Kwasi Appiah, they don't paly as a team; they're easily exposed by an organized team. The Black Satelites who won the U-21 WC in Egypt under Coach Silas Tetteh play way better than the Black Stars.
If the Ministry of Sports and the GFA cannot assist then Coach Kwasi Appiah and Maxwell Konadu should invest in themselves by enrolling in renowned football academies in Brazil, Spain, Germany and Holland on short refresher courses ahead of the World Cup. The WC-2014 isn't going to be an easy one; the level is 100% higher than what we're used to in Africa or Ghana although we have lots of talents in Ghana. Almost all our players are professionals who ply their trade in foreign land.
Ghanaians are happy and proud of our Black Stars and the Coaches who made qualification possible. But we must not be deceived into thinking that we'll cause wonders in the Brazil just for the fact that we've qualified. We all look back fondly about our beautiful performances in the WC-2006 and 2010 tournaments when Serbian nationals were in charge of the Black Stars; coach Appiah was then an assistant. Our team's performance back then isn't the same right now!
I'll urge Coach Appiah and Konadu to get Brazil vs Spain (Confidration Cup) Spain vs Germany (WC-2010) Brazil vs Ghana (WC-2006) and see if he can gain some insight. In our match with Brazil we had 56% possession although we lost 3-0 in the end. Coach Appiah should quickly find a way to make our team play as a solid unit than rest on individual performance/play as it is now.
This contribution is intended to uplift the spirits of our honourable coaches, GFA, Ministry of Sport headed by Hon. Afriyie-Ankrah and govt. to start thinking forward into the WC-2014 tournament. We can win the ultimate trophy if we admit that there's a lot to do and prepare well.

You wanted results and the man has given you just that. The goal was for him to take us to Brazil. Now we have the ticket. Can the man relax just for a second to enjoy his success? Turn on the heat on your politicians the way you are treating our football coach. How much more excitement do you want from the Black Stars? The trip to Egypt was no joke and they have been there and back unscathed, thank God. What would have happened to the Ghanaian squad if they had won in Egypt? That forever shall remain a mystery.
There is no need to paint that picture now. Free speech can be a bitch sometimes. All of a sudden everybody has an opinion about the man that has given us something to celebrate and gloat about and all we do is gun for his scalp. Do you remember not long ago, Rwanda came from the grave to beat Ghana? There was a time when we could not even win a match. One could not wholeheartedly support the black stars for fear of catching a heart attack. Give the coach a break and enjoy the ride. Don’t bring down a good man. These days I can relax and enjoy watching the black stars play, thanks to Akwesi Appiah. Akwesi is GOD, thank you very much.

A coach who plays and maintain a 4 4 2 formation in Cairo, same array players more or less from the first leg... that coach seriously need improvement. No wonder our midfield was overran. A good coach would have played a 4 5 1 formation to keep things tight from the word go. You play 4 4 2 away and invite such unbearable pressure on a defence line which is a makeshift one. This mistake cannot be repeated in the world cup. The coach need to have fore knowledge on what the opponent mode of attack will be like and set up a team to counter it and tear them apart minute after minute

I guess that is why you were NOT the coach and CAN NEVER be the coach of any team let alone the National team, the Black Stars!!! Why can't we 'arm-chair' coaches, pundits and 'experts' simply learn to shut up for once? I predicted a 2-0 loss in Cairo but we did better by keeping it 2-1.
Whatever formation we played in Egypt, the result would still have been a loss. Plus, the coach was wise enough not to allow his players to over exert themselves in what really only needed a measured, tactical approach to frustrate the Egyptians and avoid a heavy defeat against a team which as we all know is a very good one coached by one of the best technical coaches int he world.
When ignorant people like you make your noises, you completely forget about the quality of the opposition and the fact that they were playing at home and needed to protect their pride.
What more do you want? By the way I wonder if the Camerounians are busy criticising Ibrahim Tanko, another Ghanaian coach who has just led them to qualification for the World Cup. I would have thought our attentions will be directed at praising these two Ghanaian coaches (and of course Keshie of Nigeria) who have done such a marvelous job of leading their teams to such success.
Let us learn to give praise where it is due, and stop this pull him down attitude. Do you realise what you are doing to the team by being so unfairly critical? Must we win every single match to make you happy? Grow up!!!

As an Ivorian i came love Ghana because of the quality of football they used to display.Unfortunately under Kwasi Appiah Ghana has lost that brand of football that made the whole Africa love Ghana as the World likes Brazil. On paper Ghana is among the 4 best in the world.I believe Ghana will play the finals in Brazil if led by a better coach. The only 2 times Ghana played well under Kwasi Appiah were against Niger and the first leg against Egypt(Egypt made easyer for Ghana). The second leg demonstrated how tactically bankrupt Kwasi Appiah is.The score line could have been higher. They say opportunity comes but once.It is going to take a long time for Ghana to be able to assemble the quality of players they have now for next year's world cup.Ghana has the team to win next year's world cup;what is needed to achieve that feat is an excellent coach.Hopefully the sport authorities will think twice before letting the current coach lead the team to Brazil. It will be very sad if because no one wants to hurt the current coach's feeling he is allowed to lead the Black Stars for a dismal performance.Africa is counting on Ghana to win the world cup next year.Ghana is Africa's only hope.Good luck Black Stars!Bring the cup Home to Africa!

Stop being an arm chair critic of Kwesi Appiah's coaching abilities. Since you know so much about nothing, I dare you to come out with a more comprehensive coaching plan which you think our current Black Stars/ players will buy into and become your utopian world class team ,if you think in your ignorance, Ghana's team is still not worth a pesewa to be competitive enough . Give coach Appiah all the encouragement as well as his other assistants, so that we can proudly brand our players and coaches as world class beaters. Walk tall Ghanaian coaches and Black Stars and ignore all these ignorant soccer "geniuses" who have mastered the art of sewing seeds of discouragement instead of motivation and inspiration.Well done coach Kwesi Appiah and assistants who have helped our talented Stars to write another enviable chapter in our soccer history. Blessings Ghana Black Stars and coaching staff and management.

People gather here, OOPS! Did we meet here? I think we have had to converge here instead.
Nope! by the simple auspices, albeit journalistic courtesies of the information technology beamed to us and the rest of the world by various sponsors, notably the G-Web, a cross section of the Ghanaian community
have taken advantage of 'talk and lets talk' for the common good of humankind/soccer kind.
In our case, we would call it
'The Soccer Forum'.
This brings me to why am talking like this. Stay tuned.
Here is one:
Ironically, the forum's central activity is almost and always geared towards the Ghana BlackStars.(not too much mmatahoo whatsoever, is entertained)
Over the years, our views and or opinions have been varied tremendously on topics related to the GBS.
Lets take the coach for instance. He is known in official circles as James
Akwasi Appiah. For my respect of his high office and the vantage position he wields in the country,"me nntummi mmO no dinwe".
I call him Mr AA. 'MRAA Law' for clarity.
In his life as a full time coach, his tenure has lived for only few months not measured in years, but has chalked many successes.
No doubt he has benefited from all the extensive negatives people have assigned to his person as well as the profession he is so much endowed with.
Mpanin se, "Y3repae w'apampamu a, na y3re hy3 wo konmu den"
He is not of the charismatic type.
What do you see lately?
He is not respected by players.
Now check it out, how do you like him now?
He could be a just puppet controlled from the rafters. No one dare not.
He could be corrupted by aspiring would be players. That also is way out of line.
Discipline issues? Can't touch him.
The castigation and various insults, albeit ill-names that are synonymous with his name from detractors are no longer in vogue. Cuz he is now professionally immunized.
Sika anaaaa? Even Nyantakyi don't come close.
To be contd.
Beats Me.

I disagree with most of the rubbish you have served us. Dont think you know too much about football. To come out and say that the 6-1 win the first leg was a fluke clearly demonstrates that you are nothing but a pessimist. So, was it not the same Egyptian side that gave us more than a game in Cairo? We beat a good side simply because of the quality at our disposal and the manner of execution orchestrated by the coach. Your verdict is serious flawed and I hope you will wake up quickly and smell the coffee before it gets cold and bitter. All KA needs to do is to prepare this wonderfully talented, well balanced and experienced team and then you will see what these guys are capable of. I say the semi finals of the WC is the least they are going to produce.

I agree with the writer one way or the other, lets not forget coach Akwesi Appiah has done tremendously well in dealing with the Black Stars throughout the qualifications period and need to be acknowledged by many many Ghanaians there is the need to work harder to improve on the defense as this was witnessed during the playoff at the National defence Stadium in Cairo. We were outplayed and overwhelmed by Egyptian strategy and and team work ivluding ball possession and Sulley Muntari and Essiene struggled to contain the mounted pressure by Egyptian onslaught. There is the need to build a very strong defense a well organized one to be ablw to intercept and battle it out with world class strikers, good game reading, mind mapping, good clearance and overlapping are some of the key areas Coach Akwesi Appiah should start working on before the start uf the competition next june.Egypt had plenty of open chances and if those chances were taken could have put more preassure on the entire defense which was lacking consistency in defense roll and Egypt dominated and a goal in the end. The second goal was a typical example as the defense lost the game plan for a moment exposed essiene late to block the Hull strikers shot and into the back of the net.Ghana played to qualify with everything at their disposal but need to improve on taming counter attack and present a solid midfield and keep possession.Andrea Ayew should keep the ball a bit loner and move deep into opposition,s territory as he does best and in BABA YARA that saw ESSIENE with that magical goal.
