What makes you think that Egypt is safe?
The political turmoil has not abated, and it would be only to easy for the Egyptians to turn their anger on innocent foreigners. Remember that Egypt has been a hotbed for fundamentalist violence over the years. Tourists have been ambushed and killed for no apparent reason. If Egyptians have no qualms killing their own people why would they spare a foreigner?
The security risks are too great. FIFA should think again and move the game to a neutral ground.

Yes we need assurance from FIFA regarding the safety of our players and officials not forgetting our supporters. This is what civilization is all about,we would be backward if we just accept any decision from FIFA and Egypt without asking some basic questions and demanding complete safety. These would earn us more respect because it is a fundamental human rights issue, today as at this moment in Egypt the former pesident Morsi is in court for trial, let us see what happens and I hope FIFA is following developments too.As for our dear Black Stars stay very strong,go to Egypt play your game and beat them at their own backyard and come back home safely nothing would touch or harm you,no matter the hostile crowd and intimidations by GOD'S grace.Go and take total control of the game fromm the blast of the whistle, dominate the midfield and cripple them completely you can do it bcos there is too much pressure on Egypt, play to win and not ever think of playing defensive, bcos you are too strong for Egypt just beat them GOD bless GHANA

I'm glad the kind of awareness and the spirit of consciousness that's been ignited in the country.
It all started when the Moroccan referee was selected to handle our first match with Egypt in Kumasi. Some of us wrote protest letters to FIFA, some through the association's own website. Notable among this group of concerned fans was myself. And I explained, doing so would pique the interest of football's august body.
The Moroccan referee wasn't replaced as we'd demanded. FIFA has suddenly noticed African continent is being under-represented in world football and has flagged the rest of the world about changes that will also affect Asia. Some had argued that because FIFA's boss Mr. Blatter wanted re-election, he's made that gesture in order to get more votes from Africa. I disagree!
Our protest letters have reached the desk of FIFA's secretariat and there's no way they could close their eyes and pretend not to have seen anything. Our protest notes and letter have been well received by FIFA, hence the recent pronouncement about increasing Africa's number of representation at future WCs.
Ghana and Africa needs to rise up and demand quality and fairness in the game; we have to let our voices heard. That's the surest way we could attract FIFA's attention. Our FA cannot always do it alone; there should be a unified force or voices marching and shouting to FIFA's doors demanding genuine answers. Let's keep the spirit alive! Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi and his associates cannot do it alone; they need an army of decent supporter---not rowdy ones---to petition FIFA with our grievances.

Since Egypt is still not a stable country, the GFA should prevail upon FIFA to move the match another country, and not to accept the flimsy excuses given by FIFA that Champion League has been played there and for that matter Ghanaian will be saved during and after the match. GFA must also be aware that Egypt even without these hostilities are hostile
to West African Teams. Please treat this issue seriously.
My number two advise is that the Players and Official should go and sleep and the Ghana Embassy Offices with their water, food,to avoid unforeseen contingencies.
My last advise is that GFA should also send some of our best play cloth military personnelto guard against all odds and I hope with their presence as additional motivation, the players will feel happy to play the game. May God Lead us Kindly light and I hope to beat them 2-0 or r-1 score line.

The problem does not necessarily have to be in the stadium. The truth of the matter is that the entire country of Egypt is, as we speak today, in serious turmoil.
Many thousands of innocent Egyptians have been killed and imprisoned without trial by the ruling dictatorship. Why risk the lives of players and fans just for a game of football in such hostile conditions?
As for me even if you pay me $1 million for free to go to Egypt for one day, I will not go.
I would be surprised if those European teams that have invested millions of dollars in their Ghanaian players will allow them to go and play that match in Egypt. Mark my word, this will probably be the only reason why Blatter and his racist clique might change their minds about the venue. As for our officials nobodies is going to listen to them.
If the Black Stars do go to Egypt and anything unfortunate happens to any Ghanaian, Blatter and his racially prejudiced European goons will continue to mismanage FIFA in favour of Europe and football will continue to be played throughout the world. So why take this totally unnecessary risk with precious Ghanaian lives?

This is not the time to be worried about administrative and institutional principles. It is a matter of life and death. Under ordinary circumstances, this is not a matter for the Sports Ministry to meddle in, but if Ghanaian footballers and fans do go to Egypt and any of them are killed, who do you think will take up the matter? The GFA? Come on wake up.
FIFA makes officious pretensions that it is averse to political interference but it is just a cover that cannot fool some of us. For those who have eyes to see, FIFA is glaringly and politically prejudiced in favor of Europe and America in all its undertakings.

FIFA cannot say anything about govt interference. If they FIFA, have gone and had discussions with the Egyptian dictators, why should our govt not also step in and voice our concerns?
If FIFA had any respect at all for Ghana, the least they could have done is to also come and have discussions with the GFA and our govt to get our official opinions after seeing members of the Egyptian govt for theirs. But of course as is widely thought, FIFA has no respect at all for Black African govts and their people. They are no different from the hooligans who routinely chant racist insults against Black players during European football games. That is why they find it difficult to impose the necessary penalties against such barbaric behavior.
After all it is our concerns that matter in this issue and not that of the Egyptians or FIFA itself. As for the Egyptians, they are fighting their own fight and football or no football, they will continue to fight amongst themselves. What we dont want is to be stupidly misled into a potentially disastrous situation where innocent lives may be lost.
