I’m a good wife but John Mensah is pushing me out

Henrietta Mensah, Wife of Black Stars Defender John Mensah, has told Radio XYZ in an exclusive interview that she wants to save her marriage but her husband is bent on destroying it.

The couple is currently in court over a divorce suit filed by Henrietta after being married for over a decade.

Speaking via phone from her plush Trassacco Valley residence in Accra, Henrietta told XYZ Breakfast show Host Moro Awudu that: “I don’t want the marriage to come this way but it has come to a point that I don’t have anything to do now…my parents are still married, why must I destroy my marriage”.

She said: “…It’s my husband who doesn’t want to keep the marriage”.

“…I’m not such a bad wife,” she noted.

According to her, “we started from nowhere and by God’s grace we’ve been lifted to this place. If I’m a bad wife, we couldn’t have lived [together] for such a long time, so there’s something somewhere…If I’m not a good wife, I can’t take care of four children while my husband is away working,” she bemoaned.

Henrietta said being a housewife is not as easy as men perceive it.

“…It’s a very difficult job. Just recently my daughter was not feeling well around 2:30[am] just last Saturday. I took her to Ghana-Canada [Medical Centre]. I didn’t sleep the whole night. In the morning you have to take her again and all these things you are not appreciating it”, she cried.

According to her, “the divorce is from John Mensah but you will take it that I took it to court so it’s me but seriously when you look at things well, it’s not my fault…I don’t know the reason why. He only knows the reason why”.

The mother of four said she does not remember the last time she spoke to John Mensah.

“It’s quite long. I don’t know”, she answered, adding that: “He doesn’t call any child of his”.

She said though her parents are willing to help resolve their differences, John Mensah and her in-laws are intransigent and unwilling to sit down to talk over their marital problems.

Henrietta however says despite the divorce suit, she will be willing to talk things over with John Mensah “if he is ever ready to accept his mistakes”.

“I give everything to God…and I believe God can make a way where there’s no way”.
