I lived in Berlin and supported Hertha Berlin. This guy is truly susceptible to injuries. He moved to Tottenham where he had few games and then to Dortmund and Portsmouth on loan.He needed to carve a name and make money, hence the decision to play for Ghana. It could be remembered that after the WC which immensely benefited him the GFA failed to reach a compromise with him as to when he would be essentially needed to render his good services to Ghana.Ghana rather invited him to play some friendly games which he declined. Was it necessary at all to invite our top stars in friendly games when others who had been on the bench could have been used? With the type of chronic injuries he has,one would have expected the GFA to have come into a sound compromise with him as to the essential games he could be included.I think the Africa cup which takes place every two years is also daunting. But Ghana needs to win it at least in the coming years. The GFA must reason and select guys for the qualifying matches and give some others time for themselves and their clubs.A player like Kevin cannot be used in all these assignments.Essien cannot be substantially, distinguished from Kevin. The injuries he has sustained are true injuries and in the absence of any proof to the contrary,it would be diabolical to assume intuitively, that he is not willing to play for Ghana. We can go without him but it would be better to include him if he's willing to serve Ghana at anytime. We need to treat him as our brother like we did to Essien.Remember also Osei Kuffour who left the team in Mali to play for Bayern.

Which ghanaian player has to play the "dirty matches" for ghana to qualify for the big stage, for the "big stars" for enjoy the glory and exposure?...Once you are on the Black Star roster, you need to be treated the same...that is necessary for team chemistry....if there is preferential treatment, it demoralizes those being discriminated against. Is South Africa in Africa ? He poured out his heart for Ghana during the world cup in South Africa, so why are we leveling allegations against him now. Ghanaians can be really insensitive where their needs are concerned. Here we are refusing to accept a player's reason for their absence, because he was not at our beck and call. It has now dawned on me that most of our people, like most Africans, separate education from life. They all refuse to think because they are intellectually lazy. If we indeed want to know whether Kevin is lying to us, it is a matter of requesting his medical records from his club.

Tony is correct; we are forcing KP to play for Ghana, and this contradicts an established tradition as far as the national team is concerned. I have mentioned before in this column when years ago seasoned players were ignored for their impossible demands in a match against Ngeria. An ad hoc team which was assembled did what was unimaginable: beating Nigeria. Kevin did not play in the Zambia match; we beat Zambia. Again he did not play in the Egypt match; the result was even more astounding. It shows here that the KP factor in the chances of Black stars winning or losing a match is insignificant. In other words the inclusion or exclusion of KP in the Black Stars to Brazil, assuming we qualify, is unlikely to enhance the team's chances of winning or losing the World Cup. Why then are we worrying ourselves about him? Let him make his own decisions on whether to play or not for Ghana, and in fact even if he decides to play the final decision to use him or not rests with the coach. Let's focus on the abundant talents that we are blessed with, and make use of those who have no inhibitions playing for the country. Let's end the KP issue it is a distraction.

For all those comparing KPB to Essien it is not the same. Essien asked for time off and since his return he has been fully available for Ghana. KPB says he has returned but since then he has not played despite Ghana's willingness to call him. KPB only gave his return letter because GFA set a limit for anyone who wanted to be considered for world cup to give their return letter by that date. This is why the Ayews the Muntaris etc gave their letters. The difference is that whilst the Ayews and the Muntaris were genuine KPB was only giving his letter to meet the deadline but he never really intended to play until Ghana reached the world cup.
The way it is now people have seen that he is trying to fool us.
People were shouting and insulting Polo when he said the same thing just because he was a Hearts player. I dont see those same people insulting T. Yeboah. Mr Mensah, you have to re-assesed your behaviour before you make a judgement on others. Just look at your own quotation and what kind of 'condition' and behaviour do you expect us to get rid off, or insult is not part of that behaviour?
Any way, brother Ern was right but, at times the truth hurt.
Finally Mr. Mensah, don't try to be naive on KPB saga, because once a woman becomes unfaithful to the husband, THE HUSBAND WILL ALWAYS BE SUSPICIOUS OF WHERE ABOUT OF HIS WIFE WHENEVER SHE GOES OUT.
Do you blame all those who still advocate against KPB non-commitment attitude, if that was so then why?

Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng made an injury return just in time to play for Schalke 04 but he could not turn their fortunes as they suffered a 3-0 home loss to English giants Chelsea at the Veltins Arena on Tuesday night.
The 26-year-old passed a late fitness test and trained with the Royal Blues squad on Monday.
With Schalke’s injury miseries compounding, manager Jens Keller welcomed the enforcer into his midfielder but they were unable to stand the might of the 2012 winners who recorded victory thanks to a double strike from Spanish hit-man Fernando Torres and Belgian Eden Hazard.
Boateng missed Schalke’s weekend nervy win over Eintracht Braunschweig.

I have said that Coach Appiah should be left alone to decide who play in his team. As for Kevin Boateng he knows that no national team coach will have him in his squad with that kind of non-commitment he's shown so far. It's all about "justify your inclusion" kind of thing---there's no exceptions.
At least the "great one" Michael Essien is a great example. He sought for GFA's permission when he couldn't cope with national team and club demands as a result of injury. He announced his return and he's back! There's no gimmicks about that and Kevin Boateng shouldn't expect to don the national jersey playing for Ghana at WC-2014; I'm not the coach and have no authority. This is just my opinion though. Let's also not forget that the Ayew brothers have also shown their readiness to play for Ghana. If I were Kevin Boateng, I'll be the first player to show up in Ethiopia for training when Ghana prepares for the Egypt's return match.

Haaa brother Young, when it comes to KPB Brazil saga, then expect unexpected. You said that and I quote: "As for Kevin Boateng he knows that no national team coach will have him in his squad with that kind of non-commitment he's shown so far. It's all about "justify your inclusion" kind of thing---there's no exceptions."
Haaa that was not true brother Young. Do you know how many TIMES this young fellow has been CHASED by GFA & coach MRAA to even rescind his decision to play for Ghana "K3k3" without any string attached? I can vehemently tell you that, whether COMMITTED or not, JUSTIFY YOUR 'INKLUSION' or not, whether he show up at Ethiopia or not. KEVIN PRINCE BOATEN is the first man on the final Brazil squad 'if' we do kwalify.
Haaa if you don't know death, look at sleep.
Hur, we have a long way to go brother.

Countrymen, commitment and a lack thereof comes in different shades. A person may be committed yet unable to express it in a perceptively acceptable way to us. We need to take emotions out of this KPB argument and allow objective discourse at all cost. Same comments were made about Michael Essien when he temporarily took a break from the Black Stars. We conveniently ignored the fact that he sustained a career ending injury while on duty for Ghana. I am tempted to ask why all these African players playing/working hard in the grueling EPL, are less susceptible to career ending injuries there. The answer lies in the organization of our association football. If one combines poor officiating with a locally based player's zeal to prove a point and the cut-throat world in which our foreign based players operate, it makes sense for a player to remain selective in responding to national calls- especially if they are injury prone like KPB. Please don't get me wrong here, as I am in no way condoning bad behavior. I simply want us all to be considerate. Our sports administrators are in a catch 22 situation whereby a harsh ruling may ruin our chances of using our best players, regardless of where they reside. It may even discourage future foreign-born Ghanaian players from rendering services to Ghana.
On the matter of players exhibiting commitment yet failing to live up to it on the field of play, Tony Yeboah wins hand down in that category. We all saw his show of differential "commitment" while rendering services to his foreign clubs and Ghana in his prime. Shall we say, unlike KPB,he never played wholeheartedly for Ghana. Did we all not witness his egotistical attitude in the Bochum Massacre- the Black Stars' 6-1 loss to Germany. He remained nonchalant about the loss and even rubbed salt in our painful injury claiming how peeved he was when he had hand over the captain's armband to Abedi Pele. Maybe Tony has been there and done that, so he knows when players are really committed to a national agenda.
It will be in the best interest of all Ghanaians to study the matter well, because a better understanding facilitates better handling of similar situations, should they arise in the future. If Black Stars keep performing like they are now, foreign teams will be interested in our junior players- more of them to be precise, and we will have an even bigger headache scheduling them to play for us against less fancied opposition. We need our best players for the battle ahead and this is not the time to sow seeds of discord.
