I do agree with Coach Appiah. The only player who played at this tournament that have not featured for Blackstars before and might soon break into the senior team is Assifuah only because we don't have an established strikers apart from Asamoah Gyan.
Frank Acheampong and Baba Rahman have been called to Blackstars before and deserve to be considered for future call up especially Frank Acheampong. The rest are two to three years removed from the senior team. Clifford Aboagye needs to get stronger.

Blackstars without delay!!!Such ball sense and killer instinct is what we need up front to support Assamuah Gyan. I would choose him any day instead of Jordan Ayew!! The guy is hungry to perform and you can see it in his play. Typically, its only until a big european side buys him that he is appreciated.

AA is suffering from the same disease as majority of Ghanians(inferiority complex) You have to live in America, Europe or Australia to see what some of us see. The u20 players and others could play the best football but if they continue to play in Ghana no one can see how good they are. It is for the same reason why some people think Abedi was a better player than Osei Kofi, Polo and Robert Mensah in their respective positions, (no way) The three players had magic and they were wizards, Abedi had no magic and he was not a wizard, but the fact that he played in a top leage and he excelled that is why some thik he was better. I personally think AA is wrong if he wants to wait for the boys to reach age 23 or 24. Assafuah can shoot with both feet and Aboagye has the ability to open up the defense of the opponents. Assifuah is a better striker than Clottey, Adiyaah, Boakye Yiadom and Jordan. Listen to me AA, call them up may be not in a starting role but from the bench and gradually build their confidence. Listen to the voice of the people and you will never go wrong. Abedi was brought into the team at a very young age and he excelled. Ayew and others were brought in from the U20 team and they excelled and made the team better. If you bring some of them in, the team will be better. Remember the average age of our tem must not exceed 24 or 25.

These players have already proven beyond doubt that they can play under pressure in the second biggest stage in world soccer--second only to the senior world cup. Moreover, most of the other soccer nations will feature players from Turkey 2013 at Brazil 2014.
So, what is your problem? I hope you are not planning on bringing Painsil and the other dead horses back in the guise of "experience."

I support the idea of using some of the players from the U20 team, but this must be done with caution and based on merit and necessity.
The 2010 AFCON was a different scenario. At that tournament many of the senior experienced players were either injured or had other issues to refuse their call-ups: Muntari, Stephen Appiah, John Mensah, Paintsil etc. Milo had no choice but to include about 6 of the u20 players who were in top form at the time.
To play at the senior level requires a lot more that talent and passion. Other issues such as muscle strength, skill(acquired over a period of time), confidence and psychological maturity are very important. The technical team has to take several factors into consideration before they call up any u20 players.

Because when they reach age 25 or 26 they are already on their way down.

We cannot compete effectively against the West, because we do not 'take care of all the prerequisites to avoid mistakes' and that is what CAUTION amends. After all the details are taken care of, then one can take RISKS that can yield success.

Kwasi Appiah like many Ghanaians are misinterpreting drafting some of the U-20 into the Black Stars to mean they have to be included in the first eleven.
Bringing about 3 or 4 of them into the senior team now is the ideal thing to do. It helps build their confidence as they get to train with the seniors and learn the ropes. Also the coach get to use them as substitute in the final 15 to 10 minutes of a match as part of the confidence building exercise.
What other better way is there for you to actually assess them?

It is always good to have the depth of players, and a pool to draw from: e.g. local Black Stars, and the Satellites. The composition and particular selection of the players may depend on the dominant chosen formation the coach prefers. I don't know his name, but that little no 10, Lartey and possibly Assifuah, other than that the Stars have more than enough to deal with ANY team, with the right coaching and higher ranked opponents in friendlies.

I am impressed with the fact that Appiah actually went to Turkey to watch the under - 20 tourney. Well, it looks like he is learning the ropes rather well. I hope he also takes delight in updating his repertoire on modern technical and tactical know how as we fell a bit short in the just ended CAN 2013. The fact that he has been retained is only a case of a stay of execution as we put it legally. The axes, including mine, are still well out. He should beware.
That makes sense.
I do agree with Coach Appiah. The only player who played at this tournament that have not featured for Blackstars before and might soon break into the senior team is Assifuah only because we don't have an established striker ...

Rush has no place in professional statements. So Coach Akwesi Appiah you have said nothing. Let's see what you can do with all of this asset. Mind you some of these players may already be at their peak.
Simply make a policy on how a player can become a member of the Black Stars squad. Example....All Black Star players must be professional first team players or only those who played Satellites in the past can graduate to the ...

Yes, Appiah went to Turkey for more evaluation of the players, and see how they perform during competitions.Appiah is now growing and thinking like Rasheed.
Yes,Rasheed! that's why sometimes I like your comment.

That is a step in a right direction..Don't rush them ans stick to more experienced top form players only. Continue to monitor them
Is it coach Appiah or Big Boss Nyantekyi?
ODJER, YIADOM, ASSIFUAH, ACHEAMPONG ARE READY. JUST GIVE THEM A CHANCE TO SHOW WAT THEY GOT. USE THEM IN MORE FRIENDLIES. DID U SEE THE MEDIAN AGE OF THE BRAZILIAN TEAM AT THE CONFED CUP?DEY THERE....START THEM YOUNG
Assifuah,Acheampong,Yiadom could fuse into the Stars team but Aboagye, Odjer have no place in the team. Yiadom has tasted it and working gradually into the team, Assifuah and Acheampong need time to grow through the U23.
I am glad Appiah is now growing and thinking like Rasheed. Why rush these players when Meteors is waiting for them to mature.
AND SO? CAN NEYMA NOT PLAY WITH THE METEORS? LOOK AT THE AVERAGE AGE OF THE BRASILIAN TEAM AT THE CONFED CUP? ABEDI WAS 17 WEN HE PLAYED FOR GBSTAR. ODJER WAS A WORKHORSE. THE BOY UNDERSTANDS HIS ROLE WELL. HE IS FAST, CAN CO ...

Thank u coach. Don't let anybody force you to select a player. Use dedication, respect and good form to do your selection. Once again do not allow yourself to be forced to pick players like Dede Ayew
Good comment. These guys should go through the meteors first.

Wise decision.
This is no wise decision. Do you remember ? Pele ( Brazil ) was a teenager when he played his first game for his country. So what are you waiting for----until they are spoiled by huge transfer-money, just like the Ayews ?
under 20 players are not ready so do not bother yourself to include them in the nationals.do not let the fools to pressure you into play any of them.
AA you can watch tv at home and see their performance going to turkey is out of context!!!!
NDC FOREVER NDC MATCH FORWARD KWASI YOU ARE A MAN OF WISDOM I RESPECT YOU VERY VERY MUCH GOD BE WITH YOU NDC FOREVER
