Both Asamoa Gyan and Mutari have my sympathy, especially, when they lost that much in the service of mother Ghana. However, and as Kwaku has questioned, why did the players leave such valuables in their hotel rooms and go to play? Could they not have given them to the hotel for safe keeping? Why did Gyan carry such huge amount of money on him (though that might be peanut by his standards)?

If the money is bonus paid to the players then that is also worrying. Why did GFA pay bonuses in cash in this day and age? The cash payment is susceptible to corruption and it carries with it huge risk of GFA having to cash and carry large quantities of money. The cash could be stolen as Gyan's money was stolen from his hotel room. I think a minister under Kufuor suffered such fate and had to be sacked and jailed. GFA must end this crazy system of cash payments. It must be done by either cheque or bank transfer.

I was right there in the same hotel and saw when they were trying to figure out who had committed this shameful crime, In any case it is sad that this happened. Looks like the players were targeted. they were very well behaved throughout the weekend when I was there. I can assure you they weren't walking around showing off or doing anything pompous. Infact they mostly were quietly in their rooms waiting to do our country proud throught the weekend. Thanks guys, we are proud of you and your service to mother GHA.

These Players and even Joe Blows like us have insurance covering loss of properties in our mortgage payments or renters insurances and a loss of such properties will be reimbursed. Though these gentleman have money and will not inflate prices of lost properties or include properties not lost but a 35,000 price tag of a jacket makes you go hmmmmmm. I don't even think Bill Gates own any jacket with 35,000 price tag and I don't care how much money you have, buying a jacket costing 35,000Euros is stupidity.

One rents a room and lives in there with 19 more, though they sleep but are always half awake else a colleague steals their money.

My only concern in this theft case is the fact that players are aloud to keep that much money on them in B/Stars camp. Why should Gyan carry that much money to Ghana and still keep it while they travel around Africa? Ethiopia, Sudan, South Africa to Lesotho. This is absolutely insane.
