Hi Augustine, we dont have to support continuity is the person lacks technical accumen. the black stars is too big for Akwasi at this stage. You all saw appiah making mistake with the players he invited to AFCON and kept quiet. I like most of your comments but not this one. Continuity should not be sacrificed for mediocrity. with all appologies Akwasi is mediocre for this task. he would do well to save his name than to follow the money. Do you know that by his attitude he is likely to bring the problem of 1992 back into the black stars? Time will tell

I am of the view Akwasi Appiah is technical bankrupt. All yet to be coaches in Ghana, who have the mantle to work magic for the stars should be given a supporting role to help this coach.
Its time Ghana and Ghanaians quit finger pointing, the blame game and the superiority complex and be real. Thus times have change and every team in Africa can never be under estimated again. We need to have quality on the field not names and quantity to fight for the flag.
Though I like him to run affairs I definitely think he should be given a free hand to select COMMITTED PLAYERS for the national team. One other thing is, names do not play football and win tournaments but games. So Ghanaians and the coach should not rely on big and non performing names to disrupt the stars.
There is no doubt the coach is technical bankrupt and need a tune up. I would advise him to really watch his performance at the African cup and correct all the silly mistakes he made. Perfect example is Asante and Adomah, when ASante was not performing at the Baukina game, he did not have the courage to change him for Adomah. Also, though Gyan is our top striker, when the going gets tough for a player in a game he has to pave way for others to play.
One thing I know about this coach is his only two system of play; 4 4 2 and 4 5 1 with a zonal defense. Not being a man of his word; not bold enough and being pushed by others. Todays football is not only played with flare but changing systems to confuse the opponent. I saw times when the players could not supply balls to the attackers and were very frustrated. Psychology also plays an important role and we should not over rely on one player for set pieces. Germans do the player rotation and the coach must train his boys to effect a penalty kick.
Our fre fre ko bo and over reliance on foreign players must cease. Fact that you need to be a foreign player to have an automatic call to the stars is the reason our local league is dull. Cause every local talent want to play abroad and get a call to the stars camp.
I can guarantee Ghana will not qualify for the world cup unless we find a solution to the zonal defense and alternate system of play suitable for Ghana.
Also we do not want to create that stupid hype again, where you pay other teams to perform poor in friendlies and give Ghanaians false hope. Better next time play good friendlies with Germany, Italy Brazil and learn football but not minows like Lebanon.

"We need however to put good mechanisms in place and select the right players but retaining the coach, I strongly support that" Ahinful.
Here is one:
Now you talking!
One cannot replace his/her parents for being broke.
"3nny3 koraa a, wode ara neno"
MRAA should make it a matter of urgency, very crucial in selecting not just good players but the best players out there and everything shall fall in place.
MRAA should not be fooled into thinking that Essien and Kevin would be patriotic enough to grace his WCQ team. Presumably, they are the most selfish players ever played for Ghana.
We hear a fair degree of talk about genius, talent, and luck playing a large part in an individual's success.
All are important factors.
But one does not live in isolation. You always need help from the small unit of your parental government to the larger government of society in molding your personality in the station of one's life.
It is therefore a natural phenomenon,
very incumbent on us to look back to see how best you can also help helping others. At a certain point in one's life, people must look up to you for survival, life and inspiration.
Can we say for these two players as to whether we would look up to them and smile? Shall we chant Essien and KP for as long as they live?
Can we give a dynasty another meaning when we arrive at celebrity status?
"Dinpa y3 sen ahonya". so said and done.
I stand accused.
Beats Me.
