We must be ashamed of ourselves as a nation. Why is it that our talented footballers are not playing in our national team? It is not their fault. There is too much selfishness in the system, arrogance on the part of our leaders is another problem. They do not care if the nation plunges. This year was an opportunity for us to win the cup but because of our own stubborness on the part of our officials we couldn't make it. When again? When all the strong teams from North Africa wasn't there, it was the best time to take it easy. Our midfield was weak, yet we ignored the best midfield players currently in the world who hail from Ghana. Our pride will destroy us if we do not repent. One talented midfielder could have made a difference, but alas... We are just happy with our self-glory than the national-glory. Ghanaian officials many a time behave too rigid and take some stands that make no sense. For example, what is the sense of disallowing Dede to play?

Somebody a higher position must take a practical step to solve the issues of some of these boys. If we want them to come back, we must accord them the due respect. Whether we like or not, though Ghanaians, it's their profession. So we need them as it is now. They don't need us, it's we as a nation who need them. We must therefore, swallow our pride and call to encourage them to come back. With our attitude, I fear if we will maintain any good player in our national team. Don't let us think, we will still get others to play, yes we will, but think about the quality. It is the quality that we look for not just any player. We must bite our tongue for allowing the talented players staying away from our national team. Any high officail can call to talk to these guys and they will be happy to come and serve Ghana.

What I do not understand is the fact that this guy has not come out to make any statement as to why he has decided not to represent Ghana. Thing is, we need his experience and everyone expects a son of the country to fight for his country. I cannot believe that he can just sit there and disrespect his country in this manner.We all know where KPB stands, he was never really one of us so we kinda leave him to his own devices. But for Essien, born, brought and played for years in Ghana to behave this way is nothing short of a disgrace. He should look deep into himself and see if he is doing the right thing.
