The Great One...
The Great one, Jose Mourinho who most patrons of the beautiful game love to admired due to his knowledge and passion for the game is a friend and mentor to this Cape Verdean coach.
But then, the question is: Can the Blacca Stars withstand the bites/shocks/pressures of these Blue turning Bluer Sharks?
Bluer Sharks attack emanating from Cape Verde?
Do we need air traffic controllers from Prampram International Airport to manage the team on Saturday like Cape Verdeans to win this match?
According to creditable sources, Cape Verde has one of the highest digital or internet users penetration in the whole of West Africa. However, this is soccer, and as you know, football is to West Africa, what long distance is to East Africa.
The Cape Verdeans have done a great design number with the stars in their flag and jerseys but then, this is football and the best coach with superior strategies and understanding wins on Saturday.
Check this out,
"We need players who can run for 90 minutes and over and they must never be selfish,” he said.
According to the star player affectionately called the Midfield Dynamo or Midfield Generalisimo, the Black Stars team is good, but lacks creativity. He prayed that they will shun the one attacker strategy and adopt the 4-4-2 formation to be able to bang in more goals. - Adolf Armah.
In terms of cranking up more goals on Saturday, how about these subs to inject energy and verve into the team for starters:
Rabiu/Annan
Adoma/Richmond Boakye
Clottey/Gyan
Massa, seriously serious, are the Black Stars supposed to pack their bags and get ready to board a flight back home after Saturday?
Most people have booked their VIP seats for Saturday's match and any closer to the pitch, they will be playing the match themselves.
Ghanianistically, the land of million coaches will be watching from the sidelines on game day!
Nuffsed, bounce!

Never in my life have I seen a coach doing the lap of honour with his nations flag or being carried at the back by his players than what I saw after the Cape Verde/Morocco match. What a coach? If I hadn't watch the match from the beginning, I'd have taken him for somebody else. Anyway, do I blame him for rejoicing? No. After all, the African map in CAF's flag doesn't show Cape Verde. It's like they're not part of Africa. Therefore if they have come for a tournament such as this for the first time in the history of their nation and have booked a quater final berth, why don't they have any just cause to rejoice?

No one says they shouldn't rejoice and no one says they are going to be taking for granted. POW, the fact that they eliminated Cameroon doesn't mean they can eliminate us. Cameroon is being looked upon as if they are the toughest football nation is the continent. Yes, they were some years back but not anymore. Libya wasn't able to come to the biannual tournament but they beat Cameroon 2-1 in the on-going 2014 WC qualifications. Besides, Libya is on top of both Congo DR. and Cameroon in their group but didn't qualified to the AFCON. Therefore, this tells you that for Cape Verde to eliminate Cameroon doesn't mean anything because Cameron itself is not strong. So it is not a point to stand. Cameroon of today is like a lion without claws and teeth. It is just the face that may scare others but has nothing to show for as it belongs to one of the dangerous animals in the forest.
The team we have or even its bench can beat Cape Verde so what are you talking about, POW? There is no need for me to brag, because the fact is there black and white. We have the team and is capable of taking any team in the continent including Cape Verde.
I wouldn't classify this encounter as a test, which Kwasi Appiah has to achieve because the strength of Cape Verde is nowhere near the strength of Mali which we knocked out of our way.
Check out fifa rankings, not the standings of the nations, but the strengths of the teams I mentioned and ours. Compare them with Cape Verde and tell me what you think based on the information given.
If we couldn't beat Cape Verde, then I wouldn't see why Kwasi Appiah should be retained. Below are my reasons.
We played Cape Verde in a friendly match, and I know, a friendly match is different from the actual tournaments; However, it helps to tap in an opponent's weak points since 75% of the players used in friendly matches are also used during tournaments that proceed. Therefore in the friendly match we played against them, which was not long ago, I could beat you that at least 8 players out of the 11 players they used in that friendly match are going to be featured in this coming quarter final match against us. With this in mind, Appiah was supposed to take notes of the opponent's weak departments, such as, the defensive, the midfield, and the offensive. He was also supposed to identify their weak sides of the field, whether it was the right side or the left side; whether it was the lateral mid or the mid-mid, or the frontal mid which is the 3/4 part of our side, in front of the opponent's 18 box.
After he has done accessing all that, he needs to map his strategy to close the gaps in his team by going back to that friendly match's clip, and the clips from the Black Stars' matches in this tournament.
The last clips to be watched are the clips of the opponent. This helps to tighten the initial part of their execution. In other words, where they begin their attacking actions. Mostly it begins from the goalkeeper to some particular players in the team. Map a strategy to lock that core players down in order not to allow them to handle balls comfortably.
This Cape Verde coach, I congratulate him for his job well done. He has done well but this is the end of his run. I advise he takes this glory and build his team on it for the next tournament.
As for this one, like one said, I'm sorry, we are going to take it.

England had always been in the first ten and the last time they won something you Slimzay was not even born. They won the world cup in 1966. I am sure if The Philistine were going by Fifa ranking David would not have stand a chance against Goliath. Remember in 1963, Ghana made its first appearance as it hosted the event, and won the title after beating Sudan in the final. So what make you think history cannot repeat itself. I am with POW on this one not because he is my half brother but he is a realist. By the way POW you know it all is the Ghanaian born playing for Cape Verde? I do not want to hear about Niger

I read a every word of your comment. You are trying to make a point that Cameroon is a dead horse now the same argument can be made of us. We have not won anything for the pass 31 years. The fact that Libya who did not qualify beat Cameroon does not hold water here. If you have been following Cameroon very closely there were a players revolt and the coach had tough time put a team together. Even Eto quit and they brought him. Look at Ivory Coast they have all round team but they have not been able to win anything yet. The could not even get out of their group during the two world cup appearances. 2010 Algeria knock them out. What am trying to point out you is this every game and every team is different. Whoever thought that Robert Gabriel Mugabe's Zimbabwe would beat in 2006 AFCON. As a Ghanaian I want the Black Star to win every game.

Now let me ask up, if you put this above comment to the one you just gave, about Samuel Eto and the rest, what do these two comments have in common? You were refering to me about Fifa ranking positions whilst I was talking about fifa team's strengths. That was why I say you didn't read my comment well and it was obvious. You just changed your mouth and now talking about Cameroon's national team having a problem. If they knew that this team was having a problem, why bringing it into the argument? Why you didn't educate POW on that so that he would have used a different, stronger and problem-free national team? Can you answer me that?
Whether Cameroon is having a problem or not, they are not one of the toughest football nations as at now. That was my point and is still my point, Mr. N. Which national team is problem free? Could you answer that? Are you not aware of what Libya went through but still sitting on top of their group? How would you interpret that, Mr. N?
2006, we lost to Zimbabwe because we didn't have a good team and it was clear to us all when we sat for Nigeria to beat us in the opening match in that tournament. Stephen Appiah wasn't fully fit, Sulley Muntari and Essien were our midfield engine and were absent in that tournament. So how did you classify as as strong and fall to Zimbabwe? We were not one of the best during 2006 AFCON. Therefore, for Zimbabwe to beat us, wasn't a surprise. So I suggest you go back and find a different example to use.
Talk to you when I get to US on Monday
