Please Kwesi Appiah don't insult Ghanaians. Gyan was our best striker few years back but not anymore. I do not understand why the coach is protecting Asamoah Gyan. Despite scoring in the last match, A.Gyan has not performed well in all the three matches. He is short of confidence and the reason is obvious - The UAE league is like a second devision in Ghana. The standard is very low. I hope the coach would have the courage to either drop him or substitute him when he under performs again. The whole country is watching. Why not give Clottey a chance?

Many Ghanaians know the game of soccer and can play better than the crop of players we have. We can not all be soccer players, some of us chose career better than soccer but spend our past time watching soccer. K. Appiah himself was just an average defender, no doubt he can't see a good striker in Ghana.

He is the best at the moment in Ghana, I agree with the coach on this fact. With the coach's statement as Asamoah Gyan draws opponents for team mates to have the opportunity to free themselves, and also work around him, I do agree on that too. The coach's indication as the captain's ability to assist, he is right on money on this defense as well.

What I don't understand about Asamoah Gyan is the 8 clear chances he has had so far but has only been able to score a single goal out of that. That is my concern. He had 3 against Congo DR but couldn't score any; he had 2 against Mali, but went wasted; and just the last match, he had another 3 against Niger, but was able to score one out of that 3. The other 2 chances he had aganist Niger, one went out and the other, he literally passed the ball to Kassaly Daouda, Niger keeper, as if Gyan had no tibia and fibula bones in his legs.

Yes, it is admitted that he is the best we have at the moment but please he should be talked to to pass the ball if he has no vision to the empty space of the net. He did applied this football technique in the process of our second goal against Niger. That was the pass he gave to Atsu and it ended up beautifully. He should do that instead of wasting the chances that come our way when he can't see the space properly to slot the ball. If we didn't take the advantage of such chances, I mean, if we do the same mistakes to stronger opponents, like Ivory Coast, or even Nigeria, we will end up paying it back with an interest.

So far u have looked like a class 1 pupil being forced to play attack for the first time. All u need to do is be more confident, take ur time ,the referees will protect u. It is not a must to run with the ball always when u have nowhere to go.

Gyan himself knows at the bottom of his heart that he needs to raise his game. AA should have substituted Gyan on several occasion when he was tired or missed chances consecutively. It is an embarrassment Gyan and AA to allow wasted opportunities whiles fresh legs brought in would have scored. I do not know what sacred covenant or VOW has transpired in secret between Gyan and AA, nevertheless it is a 'contract' that stifles the collective good of the BS. To say that Gyan is the best striker disrespects the other strikers Ghana has. There is no need creating tension amongst your players especially in a heated tournament. AA it is okay to say to the interviewer that you reserve your comment on such issues to protect all your players!

Well here is where if all fits. Among the current Black Star players, Gyan is the only one that can be made captain OVER Dede without any issues raised. The others are Muntari and Essien. Annan cannot be captain. And with Muntari and Essien, already faded in national colors, Kwesi acted fast to neutralize Dede.

You guys should go back and watch Ghana vs Tunisia in the last Afcon, with Gyan substituted, Dede then with the captain band scored the winner for Ghana in the extra time, Gyan was the ONLY player on the beach that did NOT show any emotion or reaction to the goal - he was internally unhappy!

Gyan scores against a team, a CHEAP team like Niger, who only qualified for their debut participation only last year, lost all their matches then and the Kwesi wants the world to be turned upside down?. Gyan upon scoring runs to hug the Coach? hahahaha! when was the last time, you guys saw Gyan hugging a coach or Kwesi himself being hugging mates with other players....

Gyan is a world known player, his presence in a game posses a threat and nervousness to Stars rivals which create a vacuum for other players to score. Dropping him out of Stars line up as of now is jeopardy.

Since you cannot tell how your comments about Gyan will affect the other players, I would say you are better off not saying anything or you can reserve your comment. These comments WILL COME BACK TO BITE YOU. Just concentrate on the BIG PICTURE not on petty stuff that would ;bring "worms out of the can"

Jordan needs to hit the weight room just a bit more if he is going to be a main striker for the Black Stars.

If you think being a striker means you can score at any moment then go score nyourself.It is always easier said than done.Drogba does not score in every match but creates the opportunity to make it easier for others to score because he is able to draw the crowd to himself and creates room for the smarter players around him to bang in the goals.If you understand the game of soccer watch Asamoah very critically and any coach will want to keep him on his team.All these that chased him to Itaily,France,Britain and Arab nations never did so just by his name but dint of his hard work,discipline and performance.He went to Itaily he performed,went to France he performed,went to England he performed and Arab performed and for the Black Stars he has done a yeoman's job with with colleques to send Ghana to the world cup not once but 2 times.You can not take anything away from the guy.Kudos to all the stars and to those who delight in talking just do the talking.

He gets 10 good scoring chances and converts one. Why are other strikers not given the chance ? Asamoah Gyan surely bribed his way to the captaincy. Is he in the same league as Drogba, yaya toure, adebayor and co? The answer is an obvious no. If quality players like the Ayew brothers are being victimised Gyan's mediocre performances will be amplified as the best.
