I wish Coach Appiah brings in KISSI Boateng and push Kwadwo Asamoah to the wings as he is used at Juventus. Kwadwo played a great game not necessary as a defender but when he moved forward. He had a hand in both goals.

Folks don't cry on this past game because none of the nations came as a spectator. They all came to win. Therefore, each team is using whatever means to win. Who could have even thought that Ethiopia could have played 10 against Zambian's 11 and still pressure the Afrincan Champions? Their match just ended and it came out to be 1-1.

This tells that none of the teams is cheap. We still have time and the ability to bring the cup home. Don't forget, 1982 African Cup of Nations, we drew 2-2 with then the host, Lybia; we drew again against Cameroon 0-0 before we beat Tunisia 1-0 and qualified for the second place. At last, we won the trophy. In this tournament, we haven't even reached anywhere. Yes, I admit, it is a disastrous start but hope is not lost yet.

Kwedwo Asamoah, though, needs to be used at where he is effective. And Sammy, I tottaly agree with you. Kisi Boateng is capable in playing that position. I, as well, mentioned that last week. Good look, bro.

Oh for Asamoah Gyan's case, I think the player is done. We need a striker who wouldn't waste that much of goals. He practically missed 3 cool chances which could have changed the game totally.

We lack strikers. The one I thougth would rescue us in not fit, Yiadom. I wish he gets better soon. This is why going into such a tournament with lesser than 3 strikers is risky.

Kwesi Appiah needs to change his formation. If you are going to play a one striker formation, you need a striker like Drogba or Demba Ba.Asamoah Gyan has never fare well anywhere he has played as a lone striker because he is weak and slow.

Clottey is a waste of a slot because he has never done anything to be included in this team. Get Boakye Yiadom to team with Gyan or Atsu to team with him. Move Wakaso as a holding Midfielder and Kwadwo Asamoah to the wing with Kissi Boateng at 3. I have watched Kissi Boateng in a lot of Berekum Chelksea Africa cup matches and he is a good number three Player better han Afful.

The one-on-one chance he missed could easily have been scored by Balotelli or Drogba or any striker worth is the title. I think Appiah should just bench him. I believe we can play without a striker and still score goals through our mid fielders. They are already doing that, so why not specialize in using mid fielders to win matches.

I agree with all of you about the first game is always the difficult match but disagree with you on the part that our players payed well. They didn't play well because the Black Stars was out played in all departments. We handled the midfield as if we didn't have midfielders. Ball possession went against us. This wasn't that we had better ball possession than our opponent but we unfortunately relaxed and the opponent drew the match. No! We were outplayed and that was the reason the opponent was able to draw the match.

Let us get things straight here folks. Yes all the nations came to win the ultimate but if we are to play our game, you all will see the difference. If you have recorded that match, please I will ask you to go back and watch the match again. We started the match the way we use to start our matches. It was fast and dominant. Our players took control of the match for the first 30 minutes and then relaxed. That strategy was to allow the players to rest and depend on counter attack. That wasn't bad. In the second half, after the second goal, they totally changed the game, especially, the midfield. They were playing as if we were leading by six goals. Others decided not the follow when one makes a mistake. Few too were player with style and unseriousness whilst the match was just 56th or so minutes old.

That was when the whole game changed. So you tell me, POW, Sammy and Africanus, where in the match would you classified as our team did well? When you do well, it is at the end of a combat your crown is given to you. With the way they played, what was the result and what crown would you have given to the team with such a performance?

They did very poor because I know what they are capable of doing. If they are going into this tournament with this lousy performance, we will not reach anywhere. Folks, we have the team and this team is good but what the team demonstrated in the first match, was below average.

Therefore, let us face it, it was a poor display. It took the players by surprise and they couldn't recover. They need to be talked to and be serious.

He has now scored his long awaited second goal for Ghana. So his confidence is up and I would not be surprised if he keeps scoring from now. I believe his full potential can be realised playing him upfront. If anything the lone striker should play off him with support from Atsu and Wakaso. Harrison Afful can revert to the left back position if necessary.

The thing is football is a two way street . U can look good attacking and yet look really bad defending . Kwadwo Asamoah was effective going fwd in the game but at the same time ,he was woeful in defending . The midfield had to help cover him at some point during the game and as a result we lost numbers in midfield and thereby lost the midfield battle allowing DR Congo to dominate and create equally great chances. Our Coach got his tactics woefully wrong .

The thing is we have a great squad of players and any idiot can manage the team , We have a great squad of players any nation will die for , but one thing everyone knows in any competition is that ,you have to prepare for the unknown and the unlikely ,cuz that is what differentiate between a good leader or not . What r his plans for getting out of a sticky situation ?

Akwasi Appiah clearly has no vision and direction and merely thinks by having 22 good players he can win . What he doesn't take into fact is that, all these players get the right and best training in their individual clubs and therefore merely need direction to execute the strategy of the coach . The boys can play amongst themselves and do not need a coach who just has to tell them to just go and play and score . Cuz as we all know that wont bring u trophies ,just ask Brazil 1971-1993 squad. that talent alone is not enough .

We need good leadership and good vision and plans to execute in trying to win this competition .

On leadership he failed miserably in handling the Andre Ayew situation . Forget about his talent ,but that guy is a natural leader who has won more trophies than half of the squad . He neednt have played him , he needed lions like him in the squad to lift up the rest when the going is tough . Even his presence on the bench cud even have the effect of players not wanting to even drop a level cuz they know that they will be subbed for him and the fear of him on the bench wud have improved competition for places. But for reasons that he alone can explain , Ayew didnt make it .

The GFA has to share the blame . They have gone as far as they can go in regards to their vision . They did well in the past in making the right appointments in recent history , but cannot tell me they appointed Akwasi Appiah cuz they felt that he cud go one step further than the others . He has not shown anything different from the others . At least the others were able to get the bigger picture . He cant. Typical Ghana coach , who forgets that a game is 90mins not 60 mins . They play attractive football 60mins and relax , forgetting that some teams also intentionally relax for 60 mins and play the other 30 .

I am tired of writing . Hopefully the guys will prove us wrong , so we can lift the cup ,

That was the same mistake they did with Rahim Ayew. Just because the player can play all positions doesn't mean don't use him where his impact can be felt more and will help the team more. I kept saying, from the local black stars tourney I watched in 09, that Rahim could help the team more is used as a winger or plays behind the strikers. He could score goals from the wings, and create so many chances from there, dribling his way inwards to lay inch-perfect passes for others to score. The technical team knew of this, but just because the boy could also play defence, they kept him at number three. Now it's Kwadwo Asamoah. Without Dede Ayew, Asamoah is the only tried and tested creative maestro to play offensive midfield behind the strikers, and what he gives to the attack far outweighs what he can ever contribute to defence. But what can we say? Let the coach do his thing and keep praying for the team!

I agree with you. Kwadwo is more effective at offensive midfield than at defence and AA must listen to advice. It is technical imcompetence and not technical indicipline which cost us the game.

It is a wrong decision to keep Kwadwo Asamoah at the Left fullback position. Here is the rationale: If he plays his Left Midfield position, he can still quickly go back to help Vorsah at the back. For the Ghanaian team to have a powerful attacking force, Agyeman Badu should play the central Mid-field with Kwadwo Asamoah on the Left Mid-field. This will make our tacks swift... with Asamoah Gyan coming in after 1st half more than determined to score goals to qualify ie. if Congo beats Mali and Niger. We need more goals to be scored and that's how they will happen. 10 munites to play before sending Asamoah to the midfied was just too late. Once we secure a comfortable lead he may come back. Attacking powerfully is also a good way to defend .
