Of course Ghana is in top shape just as Cote d”Ivoire but no team will win this competition on silver platter.
This year in particular many African teams have their best of forms ever.
Zambia for example is stronger now than they were last year when they won the cup. Their best players who missed last year's competition due to injury are now in top shape and in camp to join the Katongos.
Then the giant Nigeria – they have assembled enough good players to match any team on the continent. Stephen Keshi has revived Nigeria.
And Congo DR our group members can cause a surprise. DR Congo has not performed well for the past years not because they have not got good players but mainly because their many star players in Europe used to boycott the team. But under Claude le Roy, this has changed. All their Europe-based stars are now in camp. They can cause a stir.
Mali we all know have always got good players but they don’t get good results to match – one day, they will start getting good results.
It is unwise to dismiss home advantage for South Africa
