Hahahaha Papa Appiah again, locally, I am a 100% pure fan of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, any time that we lose to Hearts was like a pain in the ass. BUT when Hearst Of Oak is playing African Clubs Championship, I fully supported them 100+1%! And why was that.
Was it too late to turn the table round, you have vehemently said all sorts of thing to discredited coach Appiah since from day 'wine' that he was appointed as a Head Coach of our National team. And now, you want to offer him a horny at the edge of your sword, are you ready to cut his tongue or what?
At times, our lips can caused some damages we can never retrieved it back which has killed one's soul for life. We don't want and need any "Pretends" & "What if'" bia again. Live your life as an exclamation, but not an explanation.

However, it wasn't Otto Pfister who stripped Appiah off the captainship band but the GFA. They brought out that bilingual decision. Also, it's good you're keeping your grounds regarding Appiah. I'm also keeping mine and at the end we both can put the pieces together and see who'll have the last laugh. Have a good day and tell your wife I said, hi.

I NEVER KNEW THE REAL REASON FOR THE 1992 CHANGE OF BLACK STAR CAPTAINSHIP. POW, THANKS ALSO FOR YOUR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THAT. FINALLY, LIKE YOU, POW, I STAND MY GROUND FIRMLY IN FAVOUR OF THE APPOINTMENT AND CAPABILITY OF AKWASI APPIAH AS THE LOCAL BLACK STAR COACH. I HOPE WHEN THE BLACK STARS EVENTUALLY BRING THE AFCON 2013 CUP TO GHANA, PAPA APPIAH WILL USE HIS REAL NAME FO ACCEPT HIS DEFEAT AND FREE HIMSELF FROM WHITE/FOREIGN MENTALITY! ALL THE BEST TO OUR GALANT GHANA BLACK STARS TO WIN VICTORIES FOR GHANA!

WITH ALL THIS BOUNCH OF QUALITI PLAYERS WE NEVER ACHIEVE ANYTHING MEANINGFULL IN THE SENIOR NATIONAL TEAM. ABEDI SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS AND HAND THE CAPTAINS BAND BACK TO HIM WHEN DAT DECESION WAS MADE BUT HE WENT AHEAD AND FELT BIG IN IT. U DONT NEED A CAPTAINS BAND TO BE A HERO IN FOOTBALL. IF I AM AKWASI APPIAH I DONT THINK HIS SONS WILL EVEN BE CALLED IN THE NATIONAL TEAM AGAIN. THIS SHOULD SERVE AS AN EXAMPLE TO EVERYONE WHATSOEVER U SOW U WILL REAP IT ONEDAY. AKWASI APPIAH PLEASE DO YOUR JOB AND DONT MIND THIS BIG MOUTH GHANA PEOPLE WHO TALK BEFORE THEY THINK. GHANA HAVE BETTER PLAYERS COMING UP THEY CAN EVEN DECIDE NOT TO PLAY FOR THE NATIONAL TEAM AGAIN IT DOES NOT BELONG TO THEIR FAMILY.

Ghana played the qualifying stages of the African Cup of Nations with local based players to qualify for the finals in Senegal. Akwasi Appiah was the team captain for the black stars until the fumbling GFA decided to replace him with Abedi Pele. It was not Otto Pfister who made the fateful decision to change captain. It was the fumbling and corrupt ridden GFA. When the foreign based professionals were invited to strengthen the team Abedi Pele responded with his own demands. He would play in the Black Star only on the condition he's made the team captain. The linguine- spine GFA succumbed to to the demand from Abedi whose over expanded ego was bursting at its seams. The puerile decision to strip Akwasi Appiah of the captainship was not only disastrous for team spirit but it caused disaffection among the rank and file supporters. It had a cascading effect on our team building effort. Our football dreams hit ground zero. Abedi's obsession with the captain's arm band became an issue again when Ghana played Germany in a friendly in Germany. He arrived very late, just when the match was about to start. He demanded for the captain's armband as the condition for his participation. His demand was met but it was a huge embarrassment for the nation. I don't know how much Abedi Pele is paying Papa Appiah to bark for him.

Abedi NEVER requested to be captain, they handed it over you him simply because Abedi by a far margin was the best African Player alive at the time! It was because of Abedi that the BBC instituted its BBC African Player awards. Initially, the players of the Black Stars mostly locals did NOT object to him being named captain but as the years rolled on they were literally 'jealous' of his super star status. The truth is that Tony NEVER won African best because of Abedi. In 1993, Abedi won and Tony was second by a very close margin! If Tony were to be playing football in this era he would have won the African Best on a few occasions.
The Akans in the team, who were many at the time seemed to have gravitated on Tony's side especially with incidences as the Bocum disaster et al. But the truth is that NO player in the black stars and IN the whole of Africa marked Abedi's stature between 1991 - 1994.
What the writer and many also forget is that, after "stripping" Kwesi Appiah, he wasn't even made the deputy, as that was given to Tony Baffoe, who like Abedi did NOT take part in the qualifiers!
Sellas Tetteh did a similar thing with the under 20s when he made Dede captain although Dede had not played in the African or West African championships, for Selas, his gamble worked because Ghana won gold. Had Abedi played in the final against Ivory Coast, chances are we might have won the trophy and the whole animosity that ensued would never have happened.
Just be fair to Abedi, he was just a different class from all the other players. Like what Adebayor is to Togo. Have you asked yourselves why no Ghanaian player has been able to win Africa of the year award since Abedi? well don't tell me because of Hayatou because that crazy dude was even at his prime during Abedi's era! It just so happen's there was nothing they could do but to hand him the award.
Just be fair! Case closed!

This is where Kwesi Appiah had gone through all the pain and suffering to bring the team to this glorious moment and then all of a sudden you bring someone from nowhere to take over! Is that fair?
We should at this point learn the lesson and stop unhealthy impositions! It is similar to the "Swedru Declaration" that broke the NDC apart and destroyed the party's political fortunes in Election 2000. Rawlings' imposition of Atta Mills as presidential candidate on the party caused a lot of disaffection as he (Mills) had not been known to have served the party in any meaningful way. He had not even been a known member of the party.

My friend, if it's a U-turn of your opinion about Kwasi Appiah after Egypt's match, just say so instead of this subtle change even though you want us to believe you stand by your initial opinion. If Kumasi used to be against Black Stars because of Abedi, that's your opinion 'cos some of us also lived in Kumasi and were fully in support of Black Stars those times.
Subtly, you want people to believe that because Abedi took over the captainship from Kwasi Appiah, he is showing Abedi's kids where power lies. If not so, where from this, "the effect of which still seems to be rippling through generations"?
Please, be genuine

The so-called Papa Appiah is nothing but a divisive character. His main aim is to take pot shot at Kwasi Appiah and the people of Kumasi for reasons best known to himself. And in doing so, he has dragged in and portrayed the people of Kumasi as hating Abedi Pele. This is totally false. Papa Appiah just made up the story and it is the continuance of the avowed aim of NDC to malign the people of Asante. This story is politically loaded and we do not need that. We know the political colour that this fake Papa Appiah wears, at least his articles on ghanaweb clearly shows he writes for the NDC. But let me remind him that Ghana is bigger than the party of cheats.
