THE WMNS LEAGUE NEEDS A SPONSOR. OUR PREMIER LEAGUE CLUBS NEED HELP. MANY OF OUR LOCAL CLUBS LIKE HEARTS, KOTOKO DONT HVE THEIR OWN STADIUMS, ETC ETC...YET LOOK AT ALL THE SPONSORS FOR JUST GBSTARS.
NYANTAKYI SHOULD DISTRIBUTE THE MONEY BASED ON RESULTS. IF THE GBSTARS GET ELIMINATED IN RD 1 OR FAIL TO WIN THE TROPHY. THEN REFLECT THAT IN HOW THEY GET COMPENSATED

I very well agree with Joe. To sponsor something always mean you expect something in return. I'm not quite sure what GNPC expect to gain here.
WHAT A WASTE OF RESOURCES.

Good point, but would the same argument not hold true if they were being sponsored by Goldfields?
Just opportunity cost.
Just trading places.
The only solution is to bar any outfit with Government shareholding from the sponsorship.
Let totally-private enterprises pick up the bill.
Therefore, the President should not have reaffirmed the current situation thus: "The government of Ghana will continue to be the main financier of the Black Stars".

Brother D you have hit the nail right on the head again. "would the same argument not hold true if they were being sponsored by Goldfields?" With just one liner, you have perfectly rebutted the attempted politicisation of our beloved game. This shows that whatever decisions are taken there will always be opposition if not criticism by some Ghanaians.

Yeah, Bother Ken, we should try to de-politicise the national interest because the crooks will come and go, and even we the people, the economically-abused, will come and go, but the nation will always be there.

Good show that is what Lukoil and other Russian oil firms are doing in their country but I hope Nyantekyi and his cronies will not pocket some.

GNPC digressed in Tsikata's day and got itself into unecessary deals which cripled it.We have the same mentality today. The saddest thing about it is that this money is directed not at the pressing needs of the nation eg.investing more in our hospitals or even our educational system but on a football team whose funds could easily be raised by the private sector. Is this the start of the better ghana agenda????Hmmmm .No wonder it is the same Tsikatarian economics at work at GNPC.
