Laryea will always be part of Hearts of Oak - Akunnor

The head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, C.K. Akunnor says beleaguered midfielder Laryea Kingston will always be a part of the team.

Akunnor expelled Kingston from the club’s pre-season training camp in Sekondi, but he told Takoradi-based radio station Skyy Power FM that the incident should not be made into a huge issue.

‘We should not make this a big issue. It is a player-coach issue. Laryea Kingston is and will always be part of the team.’

Akunnor also told Skyy Power FM that Kingston should know his position as a player, adding that because he is a big player, he needs to set good examples for the younger players.

‘He must know his position because a player will always be a player and a coach will always be a coach. He is a big player and so others will look up to him. So he has to set good examples for the young ones to follow.’
