What did he make before going to the stadium? For all you know those manning the gate might not know him. Legends must follow laid down protocols in order to avoid such disappointment.

Going forward, please work with your contemporary legends to request Management to give you season tickets in advance, so you don't have to go through this again. Talk to Osei Kofi so you guys can get something done in the future.
Looked at another way, the gate-keepers were just doing their job to avoid any appearance of favouritsm or corruption.
All the best next time.

Hmmm...I honestly don't know who is right here, whether it's mr jabir a legend of the club who deserves some level of recognition or the gatekeeper simply doing his job.

You do not have to go to the stadium empty handed. At least you need a designated free pass to enjoy the legend privileges. Probably, you went with the " Do You Know Me" mantra. Those small boys do not know you.

I doubt that such a scenario will transpire for players from the clubs you mentioned, as these clubs are professional soccer clubs operating at different levels from those in Ghana. I would assume that these clubs will offer lifetime season passes to their club's football legends. Ghanaian football legends may not possess club passes that guarantee entry. Players merely show up at the gates and expect those responsible for the gates to recognize them and allow them entry. This scenario could have transpired with Malik.

You are well to pay for gate fees after all you were paid during your playing time at Kotoko.

The core issue is not whether he had the financial means to pay, but rather the fairness and respect owed to Malik Jabir. After years of dedicated service as both team captain and head coach, such treatment fails to honor his significant contributions to the club." This issue isn't about whether he could afford to pay—it's about whether it was right to treat Malik Jabir this way, especially after he spent years serving as the face of the club as both a captain and a coach.
Anyway, I am sure the player, who also represented Ghana and Africa, has enough resources to take care of you and your family.

Is either legends are given free tickets to watch matches or they pay for themselves .we respect these legends and their contributions to the team but you cannot tell a gate keepers who has been instructed to do his work that I am a legend so I don't have to pay when we you don't have any arrangements or ticket with the football management that you are not to pay You see how blacks are so foolish ?There are protocol every where but don't force yourself is a protocol when you don't have the requirements for protocol. The gate keepers did his work professionally

The player of old played for peanuts and expect the teams to give them complimentary passes due to their sacrifices for club and country. Ike Quartey once refused to pay the boxing association taxes after winning a bout in USA because he and his entourage were denied free entrance to the executive seats at Kumasi Stadium. It is a fact that all former players and coaches have concessions or complimentary tickets to enter stadiums due to their contributions ovef the years. Maybe the gateman did not know Malik. Patriotism works in both ways as you give your best to the nation and the nation remembers you later. As a matter of fact it is not advisable to kill yourself for Ghana because they are very ungrateful

It is not fair Asanti Kotoko to ask past players to pay to watch games involving Kotoko and other teams.
