The Black Stars are set to play Morocco in an international friendly to keep the team in shape during the upcoming international window.

The match is scheduled to take place at the Grand Stadium of Tangier on October 4, 2026, as confirmed by the Moroccan Football Federation.

With the September/October international break lasting for three weeks, both teams will have ample time to play other games before the resumption of the club season.

The last time both teams met was at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) hosted in Cameroon, which was keenly contested and decided in the dying embers of the game.

It took the exploits of Sofiane Boufal, who scored a late winner for the Atlas Lions to snatch all three points in the group stage.

Ghana will play two matches in the AFCON qualifiers. They will travel to face Côte d’Ivoire in an away fixture before returning home to face The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium as they continue their qualification campaign.

Head coach Carlos Queiroz has been tasked with qualifying the team for the continental championship after Ghana missed out on the previous edition, which attracted backlash from fans.

The Morocco friendly will give the coach different perspectives on the squad and their ability to compete at the elite level, considering the Atlas Lions’ pedigree in world football and their current blistering form.
