Argentine great Lionel Messi has shared a cryptic post on social media regarding the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) debate in football as discussions continue to rage on.
In a video posted on Instagram, a paper emerges from a machine detailing Messi’s career achievements since the beginning of his professional journey in 2006, titled “Full Time Tavern (Est. 2006).”
The sheet highlighted goals scored with his left and right foot, titles won at both club and national team level, jersey sale records, and other notable accomplishments.

Special emphasis was placed on the 2022 FIFA World Cup title, which Messi captained the Albiceleste to win, an achievement that many believe cements his status as the standout player of his generation.
The final entry on the list read “GOAT Debate – Settled”, suggesting that the longstanding argument over who is the greatest has finally been resolved.
This sparked fresh debate among fans, with some interpreting the post as Messi’s confirmation that he has officially won the GOAT battle against Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
Others argued that since Ronaldo has not won a World Cup, Messi automatically claims the edge in the debate, despite continued opposition from sections of the football fanbase.
Messi recently announced his retirement from international football to focus on himself and his club career following the passing of his father.
