Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Cypriot giants APOEL Nicosia as the club looks to strengthen its attacking options.

According to Cypriot outlet Protathlima, APOEL are considering a move for the experienced forward, who is currently without a club following the expiration of his contract with Leicester City.

Jordan, 34, became a free agent at the end of the 2025/26 season after spending two seasons with Leicester. He joined the Foxes from Crystal Palace in August 2024 and played for the club during their return to the Championship.

The Ghanaian made 45 appearances across all competitions for Leicester during the 2025/26 campaign, scoring six goals and providing three assists in the Championship, according to Opta data.

His availability on a free transfer could make him an attractive option for APOEL as they assess ways to add experience and attacking quality to their squad.

The report indicates, however, that APOEL have yet to make a final decision on whether to pursue the Ghana international.

Coach Nikos Papadopoulos and sporting director Zisis Vryzas are expected to have the final say on Jordan’s potential move.

Jordan has yet to find a new club since leaving Leicester and has been keeping fit while considering his next career move.

Any move to Cyprus would represent a new chapter in a career that has included spells with Marseille, Lorient, Aston Villa, Swansea City, Crystal Palace and Leicester City.
