Outspoken media personality Dan Kwaku Yeboah has hit back at critics over allegations that he stole $4 million during the 2024 African Games, stressing that he was not cited in the Auditor-General’s forensic report.

According to him, the story was fabricated by individuals with malicious intent to tarnish his image due to his outspoken nature on setbacks in Ghanaian sports.

Speaking in an interview with Sporty FM, Kwaku Yeboah clarified that the allegations were baseless, insisting he never got involved in financial dealings or contracts in order to safeguard his integrity.

“After the African Games, because Dan Kwaku Yeboah is vociferous, people just attempted to taint my image. It was all over social media that I had stolen $4 million. I would be the most stupid man on earth if I had stolen such money and still remained in Ghana.

"Knowing who I am and how loud I am, I never got close to money or contracts. Even my people, I told them that if it comes out and you are culpable, I wouldn’t spare you. So I was surprised by the story and claims that I would be jailed,” he said.

The veteran Peace FM sports journalist fumed that his accusers have failed to use the same energy to inform the public about his innocence after the release of the forensic audit.

“Interestingly, when the audit was done and my name was not mentioned in the report, all those people went silent. It is very unfair. People who made noise about thievery accusations and jail, I expected them to tell Ghanaians that the guy is innocent,” he added.
