Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha has finally arrived in Chile to begin his new chapter with Colo Colo after a series of delays threatened to derail his move to the South American giants.

The 40-year-old, whose real name is Josimar Evora Dias, landed at Santiago’s airport on Sunday, August 2, 2026, and was greeted by a large gathering of enthusiastic Colo Colo supporters carrying flags and banners, while drums and chants filled the terminal.

Upon his arrival, the Cape Verde star shared his excitement with reporters.

"I'm very happy to be here. And I want to thank the fans for the patience they've shown while waiting for me. See you at the Monumental Stadium," he said.

Colo Colo announced the signing on July 24, 2026, but documentation problems and personal issues forced the goalkeeper’s arrival to be postponed three times.

Vozinha is expected to undergo his medical examination on Monday, August 3, 2026, before completing his move. His initial contract will run for six months, with an option for a further 12-month extension.

He is then scheduled to join his new teammates in training on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, before being officially presented to the club’s supporters.

The veteran shot-stopper shot to global fame during the World Cup, producing impressive performances against Spain, Uruguay and Lionel Messi’s Argentina as Cape Verde reached the Round of 32.

His popularity has also exploded online, with his Instagram following rising from fewer than 50,000 before the tournament to more than 29.5 million.
