Several players distinguished themselves by claiming individual honors at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, etching their names into the history books.

Manchester City midfielder Rodrigo Cascante, popularly known as Rodri, won the Adidas Golden Ball Award as the tournament’s best player after guiding Spain to lift the title.

Rodri dominated the midfield for Spain in most of their matches, showcasing his defensive work, ball retention, and precise distribution to propel La Roja to their second World Cup triumph.

France captain Kylian Mbappé claimed the Adidas Golden Boot Award after scoring 10 goals in the tournament to finish as top scorer. He outshone world-class players such as Messi, Haaland, Bellingham, and Kane to secure the accolade. Mbappé also made history as the all-time World Cup top scorer with 22 goals.

Spain’s goalkeeper Unai Simón received the Adidas Golden Glove Award for his outstanding performances. He recorded seven clean sheets in eight matches, including the 1-0 extra-time victory over Argentina in the final.

Barcelona youngster Pau Cubarsí was named the FIFA Best Young Player Award winner for his splendid defensive displays, which helped Spain avoid conceding goals.

His partnership with Aymeric Laporte was one of the tournament’s standout defensive duos, with clearances, tackles, and timely interventions proving integral to Spain’s success.

In addition to individual honors, the Netherlands received the FIFA Fair Play Award for their exemplary attitude and commitment to the rules of the game.
