18,400 tickets available for Black Stars/Hearts match

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has said it expects 18,400 spectators to turn out for the Black Stars/ Accra Hearts of Oak trial match scheduled for the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday, December 19.

The two sides meet in what is seen as a befitting trial for the national side who are preparing for the forthcoming Nations Cup in Mali.

The GFA has consequently requested the National Sports Council to make the required number of tickets available for the match.

In a letter sent to Dr Emmanuel Owusu Ansah, Acting Chief Executive of the National Sports Council, (NSC) Mr Kwaku Ampim-Darko, Deputy General Secretary of the GFA in charge of technical duties asked the NSC to direct its Acting Chief Accountant to supply stratified tickets for the match.

An analysis of the tickets face value show that the match would yield a whooping ?187,500,000 if the tickets are sold out. The purse would be realised going by the VIP rate of ?30,000 for 100 spectators, ?20,000 for 1,000 fans at the Wings and ?15,000 for 2,300 spectators at the Upper Terrace.

The Osu Stand of 5,000 people and Popular Stand of 10,000 people would attract ?10,000 and ?8,000 respectively to fetch the amount if they are all sold out.

Europe based stars Razak Ibrahim, Alex Techie Menson, Charles Amoah and Baffour Gyan and Prince Amoako are expected to feature in the trial against Hearts to enable head coach Osam Duodu assess their match fitness as there is nothing like automatic qualifier into the Black Stars squad.
