Ousmane Dembélé and Dayot Upamecano have invited residents of their childhood hometown to attend the upcoming UEFA Champions League semi-final clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.

Both players grew up in La Madeleine, a neighbourhood in Évreux, Normandy, where they lived in neighbouring tower blocks, attended the same schools, and played together on local community pitches.

Their shared background laid the foundation for careers that have now taken them to the highest level of European football.

Ahead of the semi-final encounter, Dembélé and Upamecano have made arrangements for members of their hometown community to be part of the occasion. The duo have reportedly covered the cost of match tickets, transportation, and also provided jerseys for supporters travelling to watch the game.

The initiative has sparked excitement in La Madeleine, with residents coming together in the build-up to the fixture. A community barbecue was also organised, where locals gathered wearing both PSG and Bayern Munich shirts in anticipation of the match.

On the pitch, the encounter promises to be a high-stakes battle between two of Europe’s elite sides. PSG, the defending champions, will look to make home advantage count, while Bayern arrive in strong form and with a positive recent record against the French side.

With both teams boasting attacking quality and experience at this level, the semi-final first leg is expected to be closely contested as they battle for a place in the final.
