1. UK property: The court gave Aurélie the two houses Eboué owned in England.
2. *Money & cars*: She was also awarded his money and cars that he had in England.
3. *Custody of kids*: She got custody of their three children.
*What Eboué said happened after*
After the ruling, Eboué said he was left “broke” and “practically homeless” in the UK. He told British media:
> _“Imagine, after almost two decades of hard labour you lose everything you have. Even your kids, you are not permitted to see them... I had thought about suicide”_.
He wasn’t allowed to see his kids for a period, which hit him hard.
Important context he later added
In 2021, Eboué clarified reports that he “lost everything” weren’t fully accurate:
“I have my own properties in Africa and so I live with that”
He still owned houses in Ghana and Ivory Coast. He said he expected Aurélie to use the UK assets to take care of their children.
The aftermath
- 2018: Divorce finalized. Eboué said it “destroyed” his family and ruined him financially.
- *2019: He remarried his Ivorian ex-girlfriend Stéphanie Boedé in Abidjan. He said: _“I met Stéphanie while playing at Asec. I had nothing then... Our paths have crossed again”_.
So: she didn’t “steal” his money illegally — a UK court awarded her the UK assets in the divorce settlement. The impact was severe because most of his liquid wealth and UK homes went to her, and he lost day-to-day access to his kids.
