Back when we won trophies in the 60's and 78 the game was different. You could win with a local coach. The game has evolved so you need a coach who is more informed. However, we have to look at all the facts. The current set of players we have do not measure up to the squad we had in 2010. Essien, Muntari, KPB, Gyan, Appiah etc. were of a higher pedigree.
We don't have that today, so we have to take baby steps to build the foundation to get back to higher horizons. That project is underway but will take a few more years. We can get Pep Guardiola tomorrow and our achievements may still be minimal if even. The fruit hasn't ripened but we want to eat it now but there are no quick fixes. We need to give the experiment more time. It will take a plan, stability and perseverance.
