This is one of the most weird and bizarre decision in Association Football. I have always admired Dr. Patrice Mothsepe for his efforts at rebranding African Football. Unfortunately, this obvious corrupt and callous act of stripping Senegal off the title as the legitimate winners of the mondial will damage his reputation for good. Many were not happy with the late Issah Hayatou, the longest reigning CAF President who was accused of monopolizing CAF and running it in Mafia fashion. However, we never witnessed this level of embarrassing rot and football crimes under the reign of Hayatou like we are seeing with Dr. Mothsepe and his men. All along and throughout the tournament, the calls often favoured Morocco in their matches. Though Morocco was competitive, bias officiating, skewed and deliberate misapplication of the rules to favour them was glaring. Even in the final match against Senegal, so many bias calls to short-chain Senegal to enable the host win the tournament were obvious. These are the sort of things that make Africa and African football a laughing stalk. Tempers flare up with players often walking off the field all over the World. It is extremely ridiculous and ludicrous to strip a winning team of a title because of a walk off in protest of unfair officiating and treatment, which was obvious to anybody with good appreciation of association football rules, especially in a final match. Let's resist this blot in African Football by roundly condemning and putting both CAF and FIFA under scrutiny and pressure to reverse this dubious decision. I fully agree with Claude Leroy that Gian Infantino is manipulating African Football for his personal benefit. The people of Africa should kill this injustice within the continent and CAF, without it getting to the Court of Arbitration for Sports where Morocco are likely to be favoured with a Kangaroo Judgement, to nip this dubious act of manipulation and injustice against Senegal in the bud.

1. The decision is fundamentally flawed, both in law and in principle.
2. Article 82 addresses misconduct, while Article 84 provides for forfeiture in circumstances where a match cannot proceed or is irreparably compromised by the conduct of a team. The operative threshold under Article 84 is therefore not mere misconduct, but misconduct of such gravity as to render the continuation or completion of the match impossible or unfair.
3. On the undisputed facts, although the Senegal national football team momentarily walked off the field in protest of a penalty decision, they subsequently returned to the field of play upon the intervention of their captain, and the match was fully resumed and completed under the control and authority of the referee. At no point was the match abandoned, nor was the referee unable to restore order and proceed with the game.
4. Indeed, the referee, as the sole arbiter of the match under the Laws of the Game, exercised his discretion to continue play. That decision stands as final and binding on all sporting matters arising during the match. Consequently, the integrity of the match was preserved, and its result validly attained on the field of play.
5. In these circumstances, the invocation of Article 84 to impose a post-match forfeiture is legally untenable. The proper sanction, where misconduct is established but the match is completed, lies within the framework of disciplinary penalties under Article 82, such as fines or suspensions. This approach was, in fact, initially adopted, thereby affirming that the misconduct did not rise to the threshold required for forfeiture.
6. To retrospectively convert a completed final match into a forfeiture is to collapse the distinction between disciplinary sanction and sporting outcome, and to undermine the principle of finality of results, which lies at the heart of competitive sport.
7. The decision is therefore not only disproportionate, but also inconsistent with the regulatory framework, and risks bringing the game into disrepute by substituting administrative fiat for on-field determination.
8. In the premises, the application of Article 84 is wholly misplaced, and the decision to award the match on a 3–0 forfeiture basis is unsustainable.
He sounds incoherent
