It was after Abedi came back from his first soccer sojourn that the affair blossomed. Some of us were part of it, hearts broken because we all had eyes on her but Abedi came back with his first car, a VW Jetta, and Maha fell for the promising star.

After he'd left, the VW Jetta was in possession of Maha's family and was always driven by her younger brother. They may have located to France to continue with the relationship but it truly started at Abelenkpe, in the famous Lincoln School neighborhood where Maha, who is of Lebanese descent lived with her family.
