Maybe Tinubu should have been appointed as the referee? This game was one of the best (if not the best) in terms of performance from both teams and the officiating. It is just bad luck, that's all. In football (in many cases) it is not the best team that carries the day - in my opinion Naja has been the best team throughout the tournament, but they just ran out of luck.

Refree Laryea was never going to make a good call as far as Nigerians are concerned judging by the way Nigerians attacked the refree based on his Ghanaian citizenship long before the starting whistle was blown. This includes TV pundit John Michael Obi (yes, that is his true name) commenting on UK Channel E4 that Ghanaians and Nigerians don't like each other so he wasn't expecting the refree to be fair to Nigeria. Obi, an Ibo man was probably confusing Ghanaians for Yorubas as the 2 tribes hate each other with vegeance.

Kudos to the referee. The game was physical. The Morrocan team was very stable. They hurried the Super Eagles and didn't allow them to flow. Calvin Bassey defended very well and has transformed himself into a solid player. Nigeria came into the picture in both halves of extra time but the forward had a quiet game with Iwobi almost missing. One incisive pass from Lookman was brilliant and got one shot on target saved by the GK. Nwabali did well. Both teams were exhausted at the end of 230 minutes. Morrocans may lift the cup.
