  It actually felt as if Liberia was rather playing at home, with the backing of their vociferous supporters from the Budumburam Camp. The main difference was George Weah, who really made his presence felt through his leadership, and dedication.
  Most Ghanaians left the stadium even before the third goal. Accra went quiet that night.

  There are a lot of inaccuracies in the reportage. Ghana has never had any coach by the name Horner Jones. Unless, the Horner Jones here is Jones Attuquayefio, who was the coach of the team then.

  After the loss against Liberia, he fielded an entire team made up of players from Accra Hearts of Oak for the match against Nigeria.
  
  He remained in charge until his dismissal for Osam Duodu.

  I was at the stadium that day. George Weah led his guys to silent us. Even though we defeated Liberia at their backyard, the Super Eagles humiliated us in the last game of world cup qualifier in Nigeria. We went there with 2 goalkeepers during the game, we substituted our goalkeeper due to injury and the second keeper also got red carded in the second half. Emmanuel Osei Kuffour of Hearts of Oak was deployed as a goalkeeper until the final whistle.
