At the time when Nketiah and others said they weren’t coming, the Black Stars wasn’t attractive enough. But just as we qualified for the 2022 World Cup and saw players like Semenyo, Inaki, and Salisu join, this current qualification should also open the door for more players to come in.
Otto Addo, of all people, should be the last person to deny anyone the chance to join the team he himself is a benefactor of such second chances.

He never lost a WC qualifier match. Is that your definition of clueless? We are not door mats for people to walk over. Different if they were top tier players, but Nketia and Odoi's performances are on a decline, and they will not choose you if their careers were on the upswing. They cannot get into starting eleven and may have to compete for a spot on the bench. I will not get rid of committed bench players like Nuamah, Issahaku, Paintsil or Inaki for these two opportunists..

Forget about these two players per se. The issue here is whether we should welcome others to the team who may be better than some of the ones we currently have but who for whatever reason did not partake in the qualifiers. My take is, get the best Ghanaians on the team who can make a very strong impact at the world cup. We should not blanketly say if you are at the top of your game now but did not participate in the qualifiers you can not join the team. Lets face the truth, our current crop of players will fall like a pack of cards if we should play against Spain for example. Find the very good Ghanaian players from all over the world to strengthen our team. For once, let's put aside our pride and get the best regardless. Our pride may lead to our downfall if we are not careful!

You just said "willing to play for the black stars", how do you understand that? There's a difference between a player who wants to be seen at the world stage and one who wants to play for a team. Do they want a great tournament or only seeking their world cup appearance? Are they better than the player they're replacing? Even if the performance at club is better, can they play equally well in this team? If they have rejected the team before will they be accepted by current players in the team? These are the difficult areas to navigate. If the players feel they need those players in the team so badly, then maybe that's one thing that could convince the coach. But even then, don't forget Nketiah or Odoi is going to be a new player in the team, and it is the coach who will decide on adding new players and which ones.

Why don't those players want to play fir England anymore. At least if they have wise people in the families, they should first ask them to apologise for rejecting Ghana in 2019.
Michael Essien was an exceptional player. But his antics with Maurino to dodge Black Stars matches made him no idol of Ghanaian football fans. Till date, the GFA does not want to work with him. Remember how he dodged AFCONs and qualifiers with fake injuries?

Kevin Prince Boateng was accepted to play in WC 2010 though he didn't play in the qualifiers. He disappeared after the world cup only to reappear when qualification for 2014 WC was all but sealed. He was once again in the squad, but after the 2014 WC he was never seen again. If his performance was good at the world cup and didn't feature in any AFCON, it's not a problem at all provided the regular Black Star players and the coach needed his services during world cup tournaments. But then his intentions should be clear from day one: "I'd Iove to be part of the world cup" rather than a blanket statement of "ready to play" for the team so that there are no surprises. Then if the coach thinks they will be needed, he may invite for friendlies to access them. It is not a matter of "baboon". He would only be checking their suitability for his setup at the world cup.
