I don't know the system during Nyantakyi's era but Nyantakyi was FA president for 12 and half years( 29th Dec, 2005- June 2018). Anyway I don't support this silly 3rd term agenda from Kurt and his cohorts.

Some of reasons Ghana is not making headway in sports. People have better ideas of football management. He shouldn't try third term. Let's kick him out.

Even if it's a good idea for the extension, it's equally prudent to suggest that the extension should start not with Kurt but the next election else it will mean he has changed rules in his favor and in the future another president will equally seek fourth term amendment. So lets make it that Whoever changes the terms will not be allowed to contest after the stipulated terms have been served for fairness sake

No Third Term for Kurt Okraku: Ghana Football Deserves Better
By Concern Citizen
When Kurt Okraku was first elected President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), many believed he would bring new energy and professionalism to Ghana football. But as the years have passed, it has become clear that his tenure has been more about influence and personal advancement than national progress. Now, as he seeks a third term, Ghanaians must ask — what has he truly done for our game?
No Trophies. No Progress. Just Talk.
In two full terms, Ghana has won no trophies at any level not the Black Stars, not the youth teams, not even women’s football. Tournament after tournament, we crash out early, unprepared and uninspired. Meanwhile, our local league continues to struggle for relevance, our youth systems remain underfunded, and football development is stagnant.
This is not what we were promised.
Football or Business? The Lines Are Blurred
It is hard to ignore the clear conflict of interest in Okraku’s position. How do we expect fairness from a GFA President who owns a football club? The truth is uncomfortable: his era feels more like a business operation than a football revolution. There is strong perception whether real or imagined that decisions are made not in the interest of Ghanaian football, but in the interest of player sales, club influence, and personal networks.
When a football administrator has vested interests in player transfers, how can national team selections be trusted? When leadership is driven by private ambition, what happens to the collective dream?
It is unethical, it is unfair, and it must stop.
We Need New Rules And New Leadership
Ghana must wake up and set a new standard: No one who owns or controls a football club should ever be allowed to lead the GFA. The conflict of interest is too obvious, too dangerous, and too damaging to the integrity of our game.
Future reforms must draw a clear line between football governance and football business. Because when those lines blur, as they have under Kurt Okraku, it is morality, ethics, and meritocracy that suffer. And the players, clubs, and fans pay the price.
Leadership Fatigue, Not Leadership Legacy
Kurt Okraku has had two terms. He has had time. He has had opportunity. Yet he leaves us with more questions than answers. The Black Stars are no longer feared. Local football is still fighting to breathe. And trust in the GFA is lower than ever.
If this is the legacy after nearly eight years, then why should he be granted more time?
A Call to the Delegates: Vote With Courage, Not Convenience
Let us now turn to those with the power to make this decision the delegates. The nation is watching. This moment is not just about votes; it is about courage, conscience, and country.
Let’s see whether the delegates this time around will be brave enough to put everything aside including any incentives, promises, or pressures and vote with their conscience. Let them vote for the soul of Ghana football.
Because what is being proposed is not just another term. It is a dangerous attempt to change the rules to suit one man. And history has shown that anytime a leader tries to bend a system for personal gain, it never ends well — not for the leader, and certainly not for the people.
Conclusion: Ghana Football Needs a Reset
Ghana football is not the personal empire of any one man. It is a national treasure. It belongs to the boys playing barefoot in Tamale, to the girls dreaming in Takoradi, to the die-hard fans filling the stands in Accra and Kumasi.
It’s time for Ghana to move forward not backward. We need a new direction, new leadership, and a new code of ethics to protect the future of the beautiful game.
Let it be said loud and clear:
No third term for Kurt Okraku.
Ghana football deserves better.

I am not surprised at Sannie's endorsement. And I am sad he is saying Kurt Okraku has made progress. What progress, Sannie, has Kurt made that you endorse him for another term?? I only agree with Sannie about the fact that some plans take time to bear fruits. But we all know Kurt has failed to convince many of what he can do. If 2 terms he's failed, what justifies that he will be better in another term. It is sad to note that he is bamboozling his way to achieve this inspite of criticisms even from GFA fraternity. Kurt be careful oo!! Hasty climbers have sudden falls. A word to the wise is enough.
