she is British not English. citizenship in the uk is not that straightforward. English, welsh, Scottish, Irish and specific ethnic groups. British is just what you have on your passport. you won't call a white French person a ...

British is just what you have on your passport. you won't call a white French person an Ashanti just because they were born in Kumasi will you? but that white French person born in Kumasi qualifies for a Ghanaian passport therefore a Ghanaian but not Ashanti. you won't even call an Ewe person born in Kumasi an ewe . likewise he/she is Ghanaian . same way English is an ethnicity or what we call here in ghana a tribe .
