First of all, Agradaa was a known scammer when she was a fetishist priestess and everyone (a lot of people) knew that about her. In order to change the direction of her scamming scheme she (allegedly) saw the "Light" and converted to Christianity and had the powers to perform miracles straight away. And a few months later she made a video in which she said in her opinion the name Jesus Christ didn't carry as much authority - in other words people didn't fear her as much as they used to when she was a fetishist priest so she would go back to the shrine. So upon all this if people were stupid enough to attend her church, never mind giving her their money to be doubled up for them, I don't see why she should be jailed? Moreover, is money-doubling legal in the law? If it isn't, which I believe it isn't, why did they jail her and spared those who made the complaint - aren't they also involved in the illegal money-doubling?

However, in a country where over 50% of our people are ignorant and still believe in the 'magical' powers of money doubling, government officials and civic education should offer some protection. That cannot be done without going after the fraudsters who see it as a means of living. Mahama is not a judge and presidential powers are for pardoning exceptional cases, not fraudsters, crooks and deplorables. Banku can either go to do the time on behalf of his dear Agradaa or leave Mahama out of this.

It appears that this “lady” is a well practised fraudster graduating from a fetish priestess to a “pastor” albeit without any evidence of formal training.
Nevertheless fifteen years for fraud while bespectacled and suited financial institution robbers get a few years and come out to enjoy the loot seems excessive.
How much money was involved?
However it is not surprising since goat thieves have been known to get the same sentence as murderers and people convicted of manslaughter.
Maybe removing the CJ could be a start at sanitising our justice system.
