Correct. The players are basically role players at their clubs. They cannot lead a national team. Kudus is the only exception. Semenyo is getting there but not there yet. Partey is ageing and injury prone.

Old players who have seen it all should be encouraged to take management roles and start our football from the scratch. That is the only way to go now. Many countries, like Spain, england and Italy have all passed through these stages.
