Why can't these small-mind Ghanaians leave Louis Suarez alone? Competitive matches are not friendly games and there are no favours to expect from your opponent on the field. It is legitimate for any good footballer to ensure his team wins and that was what Louis Suarez did for his country, Uruguay. The fact that he succeeded in denying Ghana victory through a foul means cannot be any issue. Why? Because the referee did well by giving him what was clearly the maximum punishment: a red card and a penalty award for Ghana. Ghana must rather blame itself for failing to convert the penalty into a goal and even after the match ended in a draw, failed again to outscore Uruguay in the mandatory penalty shootout.
If Louis Suarez were a Black Star player, and he did what he did for Uruguay for Ghana, we would hail him as the true hero that he is. Instead of always talking about 2010 world cup and Louis Suarez, we should be aware that we are in 2024 and concentrate our attention on the current state of our Black Stars.
