After the unfortunate incident between Carini and Khelif, the IOC clarified the issue around Khelif's gender and explained to reporters that she is not transgender, that she was born a woman and has always been a woman (except for her higher testosterone level of course). But the BBC even today still reports the issue like she was transgender, with some UK politicians even calling the IOC out.
