What we lack is what to do with them after producing them. The local Premier League hasn't been attractive enough to keep the youths when produced so that FA has a duty to make the local league profitable and entertaining and paying so that the youths so produced can stay.

Don't blame the govt.! This guy was nurtured with private and to some extent in facilities(educational etc) facilities provided for general use in the budget of Spain. We have academies also in Ghana which produces such talents year in year out, as soon as a talent pops up , there is a rush by "awam" businessmen trying to sell him abroad . Once in abroad their talent gets wasted thru *so-called" agents who also want their share. Meanwhile in Abroad , these talents face challenges and very soon become redundant because they no longer fit into the plan of these foreign nations or they are misused till they become trash! In the 60s the Black Starlets/Satelites were called Academicals and were nurtured in the secondary and technical schools, they had their scholarships and education and it was easy to monitor them and so enjoyed smooth transition into the Olympic and Black Stars team. Those were the times that Thee Ghana football was at its highest - There was intercollege tourneys etc! About 99% of the players were gainfully employed or had stipends and scholarship's etc. Also the colt football system was very active and hot! Even apart from the div 2 league, there was also a reserve team league ( AUroras, Oly Dade, etc) . Anas, Peter Lamptey, Kissi, Abeka Ankrah , Foli , Anue Cofie, VC 10 Odoui and Cyrsil Jones Attuquayfio etc were all part and also Osei Kofi Agyman-Gyewu were all catered for in their various technical and secondary schools. Abedi Pele Odartey-Lamptey and on and on they were all monitored and taken care ofand encouraged with all sorts of incentives both from the govt and business sectors! These players played with heart and soul for the nation! Those were the days that patroitism came before money.
