As true Ghanaian citizens, we should rather be proud to see Kwesi Appiah, our compatriot and a former coach of our national team, excel in his international coaching career. This is because, his success will open the door for other Ghanaian coaches. Conflict of interest is about being a judge in one's own court and there is nothing like that when Kwesi Appiah leads his Sudan team to play against Ghana in an AFCON qualifier. It's delusional to think there are secrets about Ghana that Kwesi Appiah can reveal to Sudan to make them gain any advantage over Ghana. Kwesi Appiah cannot have any influence over our players whatsoever. Rather, all his coaching influence will be over the players of Sudan just like how our own coach will have hi influence over our team. Just as our players and coaching staff would desire Ghana's qualification, it's fair for Kwesi Appiah and his Sudan team to also desire their qualification. This is the competitive spirit that football represents. At the end of the day, it is the better team that will win irrespective of who their coaches are. A football match is just a game and not a war between two enemies. We must therefore grow in our minds.
