    Lobbied or not Black Stars don't lose matches in Kumasi,the worse is draw. This is why GFA can't do away with the Kumasi stadium and why every crucial game is hosted in Kumasi. Kumasi is a blessed city.

    Asamoah Gyan is not Asante! The truth is the people of Kumasi like football and care more about the black stars than Accra . Heck not all people of Kumasi are Asantes to begin with .

  • Kubut3 1 year ago

    Asamoah Gyan is Asante, his mother's hometown is Mamponteng which has become part of the kumasi metro area. We see him as one of us, because we 100% belong to our mothers tribe not our fathers.

  • Wise Narrator 1 year ago

    @Andrew: Asamoah Gyan is 100% an Asante from Mamponten in Ashanti Region. Asamoah Gyan mother was was buried at Mamponten Ashanti.

  • rainbow 1 year ago

    Did he say he was Ashanti himself? Have you seen any person called Gyan being Ashanti before? Anyways he never won any major trophy ever, no champions League, African Cup etc. you can take him

  • Wise Narrator 1 year ago

    Yes the name Gyan is an Akan or Asante name. Many Asante people are named Gyan. Even Wanchie township is a branch of Asanteman. Asamoah Gyan mother’s hometown is Mamponten in Ashanti Region.

    @Kubut3. Where's Alan Kyeremanteng's mother from?
    Where's NAPO' mother from?
    Where's Sarkodie's mother from?

    Do you still claim the aforementioned to be Asantes?

    We’ve got too many tribal bigots in the country and Asamoah Gyan is a typical example. What’s wrong with bringing our beloved Black Stars to other regions?

  • Wise Narrator 1 year ago

    Asamoah Gyan is very intelligent, thoughtful and a dignify young man. Asamoah Gyan is not tribalistic. He just expressed his love for Kotoko football team, Kumasi city and Asante tribe. Asamoah Gyan has never made negative re ...

    @Nana O: Your assessment of labeling Asamoah Gyan is as tribalistic based on his expression of love for Kotoko or Kumasi city or Asante tribe is rationally inaccurate. It is obvious that everyone has preference for everything ...
