There is no smoke without fire. Ampeh was rumoured to be a bribe taker in those days. Joe Sam, Kuku Dadzie were also accused by Kotoko for taking bribe when Kotoko lost to Hearts in the seventies. For that case it was false allegation. That defeat ended the careers of Joe Sam, Kuku Dadzie and Daniel Oppong with Kotoko.
