Soccer training institutions like Right to Dream, WAFA, etc. need commendation for their dedication to unearthing and polishing footballing talents in the country. My concern however is the obviously lopsided preference for creating midfielders at the expense of other equally important areas of soccer/talent development. Obviously, as a football ING nation we are currently so bereft mainly of striking and goalkeeping talents. It tells so remarkably at all levels of our national teams and their performances in tournaments. The least said about the local league and how it exhibits the same challenge the better. If you doubt this, just look at the once almighty Kotoko and which nationality of players have been their key marksmen for 2-3 years on the trot. There's absolutely nothing wrong with foreign imports who improve our league. But this trend tells a lot about the approach to holistic soccer development programs in Ghana. Recently, all we are noted for are midfielders. Hmmmm
