First of all Sammy Agyei was number 2 at the 2006 world cup.
George Owu was topidoed by Sam Adday's inexperienced Philimon MacCathy under the guise that we need to take at least one young goalkeeper to the world for the future. Come 2010, and Philimon MacCathy wasn't in the squad for the world cup.
After the South Africa match where George Owu excelled, Sammy Agyei assumed the number 1 position again and was in post at AFCON 2006 in Egypt. However, right from the first match against Nigeria, Sammy Agyei was making saves but spilling the ball and it that became a matter of concern for a lot of people.

When he even had injury, he didn't want to sit for Sammy to be in the post in one of the matches and that made Sammy angry.
