The performance or lack of it by the black stars epitomises the state of affairs in Ghana. The economy is on life support, the education system has collapsed, the health service is on its last legs. And now football, the soul enricher of the hapless nation is all but dead. And who's to blame? Politicians who over years have failed to be forward thinking in areas like investing in the youth to garner grassroot support. Cote d'ivoire may have survived expulsion from the games by the skin of their teeth but boy, as hosts what impressive facilities have they laid on. Splendid stadia! And Ghana is hell bent on building a cathedral nobody wants! Hughton is sacked and the technical team is dissolved. Anyone with a fleeting distance from football in Ghana must be shown the red card. Politicians must be first in line as they will be the first to claim credit if Ghana had performed well.
