Black Stars to ride the tide of prayers to victory

Ho (V/R), Feb. 5, GNA - An Executive Committee member of the Ghana Football Association, (GFA) Mr Francis Dogbatse on Tuesday called on Ghanaians to step up their prayers for the Black Stars as the team moved closer towards clinching the 2008 African Cup of Nations football crown. Mr Dogbatse said just as the spiritual support displayed on Sunday won the day for the Team, so would they require a collective and a higher spiritual intervention to overcome their semi-final opponents, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon on Thursday. The Executive Member, who made the call in an interview with the collectively before matches".

He said prayers kept players stable psychologically and together for a common purpose.

Mr Dogbatse was optimistic about the chances of the Black Stars winning their semi-final duel against Cameroon and the Cup on Sunday provided the players remained focused and played according to instructions.

He predicted a 1-0 victory over the Cameroonians and advised the technical bench of the Black Stars to be united in their approach, follow the game and respond swiftly to ensure a sweet victory for the country.
